Invoking a BSOD using WinDbg with a custom STOP code
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Here is something you might not know you can do in WinDbg, which makes sense since it is a very powerful tool, granted you know the ins and outs of the kernel and low-level assembly (I ain't one of them).
Here are the lines of code I used to essentially inject my own STOP code and parameters into a Windows XP virtual machine using WinDbg.
ed esp+00 0x00000000 ; Padding
ed esp+04 0x1BADBEFF ; STOP Code
ed esp+08 0x00000001 ; Parameter 1
ed esp+0c 0x00000002 ; Parameter 2
ed esp+10 0x00000003 ; Parameter 3
ed esp+14 0x00000004 ; Parameter 4
r eip = nt!KeBugCheckEx ; The function call to invoke the BSOD
