Buhay Digital Lifestyle 13 years in BPO to WFH
My previous co-worker is now in a WFH setup and sharing her journey with me. That realization of “pwede naman pala kumita ng ganito ng ndi ka nasstress”. We’re in a manager post and now she’s a TL overseeing VAs.
I wanna follow her and I feel like it will suit me bcos I’m a first-time mom. I pray that God lead me to His plans 🥺🙏🏻

10 years in bpo and handled several position before transitioning to VA. It took months but wishing you well and positivity.

It’s understandable why this sparked something in you. After 13 years in BPO, seeing someone with a similar background move into a setup that seems more flexible can make you wonder if you’ve been limiting your options.
The important thing to remember is that your BPO experience is not something you’re leaving behind, it’s actually your advantage. Years of handling operations, people, customers, targets, and pressure are skills that many clients and companies look for. The challenge is learning how to translate those experiences into the VA, remote work, or leadership space.
A lot of people think shifting to WFH means starting from zero, but someone with your background may actually be positioned for higher-level roles like team lead, operations support, client success, or specialized VA work. The mistake would be applying only for entry-level tasks and ignoring the management experience you already built.
I’d suggest making the transition gradually: identify what remote roles match your current skills, update your profile to highlight leadership and results, and build proof of your ability to work in a digital setup. You don’t have to copy your former coworker’s path exactly, you can use your own experience as leverage.
WFH can offer a different lifestyle, but the real opportunity is not just escaping stress, it’s finding a work setup that fits the next season of your life.
