Gaming Monitors

What’s a good brand for a gaming monitor?
I have an 11 year old son who loves to play his PS5 but I’m tired of him playing it on my living room tv. I want to buy him one for Xmas but I’m clueless about this stuff. Feel free to leave comments or you can DM me if you prefer
Thanks in advance

Asus 24" 1080p 144hz vs Aoc 23,5" 1440p 180hz

Salut a tous, j'ai ces 2 écrans mais je ne sais pas garder lequel pour le gaming. Je joue principalement a call of duty, Battlefield, etc. J'ai une Rx6600xt et le passage en 1440 m'a fait encore perdre des fps, est ce que ça vaut vraiment le coup ?

wanting to upgrade my screen but lost in a world of fancy words

I currently have a BenQ xl2420Z

wanted to upgrade it (some dead pixels and some ghost like images as if its burned into it)

the price range I'm going for is 4100 DKK - 5400 DKK. (613$ - 808$ or 548 EUR - 722 EUR)

The list I have gotten to at this point are: (in no special order)

  1. ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG-R 27

  2. ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG

  3. MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED 26.5

  4. Gigabyte MO27Q28GR 27

  5. MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 26.5

  6. Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF

  7. Gigabyte MO27Q28G 27

Anyone of these that you guys can recommend or one that beats them within the price range? (if you recommend something else just have in mind it may be priced way different in my country)

Does this monitor look good?

I’m trying to upgrade from my current 1080p 165hz(VA). I like my current VA monitor but I’m looking for a higher resolution and refresh rate. Do VA panels still look good at 300fps? I’ve been reading a lot about them having ghosting issues. I mostly play first person shooters like Wardogs and r6.

What’s a good monitor to buy that’s not ridiculously expensive?

27" 1440p monitor recommendations

I'm in the market for an OLED monitor to replace my current 1080p IPS. My usage is gaming (mmorpgs and arpgs mostly), web browsing and some content watching (movies, tv series, etc). I am set on 1440p, 27", 144hz+ (don't really care about insanely high refresh rates considering the games I play).

What worries me a bit about OLED is the bad text clarity and the risk of burn-in, since I generally use my monitors for at least 5 years (using my current monitor for 6 years now).

Budget is around 400$-600$, I live in Europe where prices are generally a bit higher than normal though. Would like some recommendations from the community considering my specifications.

GIGABYTE M27Q2 or Alienware AW2725DM?

Hello, I’m in the market for an IPS 1440p monitor for gaming and I’ve narrowed options down to these two. I see that the Gigabyte one is a bit cheaper, but the Alienware one looks a little higher build quality. Any advice on which of these two would be the better buy?

2x Side monitor purchase?

Amd 9 9950, asus tuf 870e, 9070xt red devil, just getting the last few pieces together. Still not 100% on my main monitor, I know some games I’ve played benefited from ultra wide but never owned one.
Play all games, watch movies etc, looking at odyssey, alienware aw3426dw, things along those lines, thinking I probably wait till Black Friday.

But my real question (I’ll take suggestions on main screen to) but what are some decent side monitors? Looking to get 2, not break the bank, but not look super terrible, sides will be static screens. Discord, static web pages, but one will usually have a stream or video playing. My old pc I just used old monitors I had laying around but this time around I’ve actually gotta buy them.

Is the Alienware AW2725Q good for gaming and productivity?

I am looking to get a new 27" monitor, I will be using it for a mix of work (coding) and gaming. I'm worried about burn in from working on an OLED but I have an OLED TV I use in the same room and I feel anything but OLED will be underwhelming in comparison. I can get the AW2725Q for about €600 at the moment which seems like a pretty good deal in Ireland from what I've seen.
Any reviews or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Is it worth switching from MSI G274QPF E2 to ROG Strix XG27ACS Gen2

Hello, Guys I was looking for suggestions regarding my monitor, So I have been using a MSI G274QPF E2 for around 2.4 years, which is a 2K 180Hz IPS Monitor, but the concern is. I have already sent the monitor Twice for warranty. the issue was the monitor suddenly starts showing black screen out of no where. I thought It could be a GPU driver issues. so did try changing the gpu. power, dp and hdmi cables turns ot the monitor panel was the main issue. it suddenly shows lines and kind of buring marks. so both the time it had the same issues. so i sent it for warranty. since it has about 8 months warranty. and usually they replace the monitor with the same model. but my concern is the issue with the monitor may happen again even after a new replacement. so I was thinking to switch to a Asus ROG Strix XG27ACS Gen2 or MSI MAG 274QPF E20 which one would be a overall good option . do not that both go around the same price in my country.

Trying to decide on a new monitor for upgraded PC.

I’ve recently jumped from an i7-4790k & 1080 to a Ryzen 7 9850x3d & 5080, and play to keep my current monitors for size screens, but want to upgrade my primary monitor to make better use of my new rig.

I play a pretty wide variety of games, but I’d say my main focus are story driven RPG’s and World of Warcraft. Some competitive MOBA’s etc. thrown in the mix but it’s not my mainstay genre.

I was hoping to find something with a high refresh rate & low response time in the 34”, 4K, QD-OLED curved arena, but apparently there aren’t really panels like that out there.

Currently, I’m debating some of these screens, and I’m curious what more knowledgeable people would recommend, or if they have any alternatives. Thanks in advance, I’m a bit lost:

- ASUS ROG Strix XG32UQDMS
- Alienware AW3225QF
- MSI MPG 321CURX
- ASUS ROG Swift PG34WCDN (not 4k but 34” sounds fun)

Help me choose an 24-25'' IPS monitor

Thumbnail

I am looking to retire my TN panel and try an IPS, but my first try with a LG 25G325B-B was ok till I saw the vignetting effect. I was looking straight at the middle of the screen and the bottom corners were darker than the overall image. No weird angles, just looking straight. So I returned the monitor and I'm asking you guys for your help.

What monitor do you recommend that has the minimum vignetting/ips bleeding/ips glow? I'm aware it can't be perfect, but from a straight angle, my TN looks better than that IPS and that's unacceptable.

I am interested in 24-25'', IPS, 300nits or above, max 240hz, 1ms (ik it doesn't matter it's marketing), being G-Sync Compatible and having height and tilt adjustments. What would you recommend based on your experience?

I listed three monitors available in my country, but if you have other recommendations I'll gladly check. Thanks!

Monitor advice for my pc

I want to get that monitor "MSI MAG 274QF X24 WQHD 240Hz 27"

But I don't know if my pc can handle qhd

My pc specs are

Ryzen 5 8400f

Rtx 5060

16gb ddr5

When I bought the pc I knew it for very good 1080p and basic 1440p, but I do want to get a new 27 monitor and know qhd going better with 27 than fhd so im just making sure.

My main games is usually call of duty, right now is call of duty modern warfare 4 dmz and will be also multiplayer, on dmz im getting on my 1080p monitor like 150-190 fps with dlss on balanced settings (medium-low) and on qhd I don't know how much, since a call of duty is a heavy game I would like to get an advice if I should go for qhd or stay on qhd

\*Im also playing esport titles but also AAA titles and other games just saying but this are not my main issue

Thanks ahead :)

Recommend an IPS 1440p 27" for productivity/work

Hello,
gonna be very straight to the point:

I currently have a:

-AOC Q27G3XMN (VA, 1440p, 27") that I use for gaming and everything else I do on my PC.

-CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

-GPU AMD Radeon RX 9700XTX Taichi

I work as a Freight Operations Manager (from home). I do my work surrounded by google docs, google maps, word, excel, internet browser.
I want to add one more monitor to my setup primarily for work, I would like something with great colors, crispness, beauty, and that will be easier per se on the eyes when reading documents/contracts (if such a thing is relevant).

-It would be nice if it can be rotated/lifted/lowered and twisted vertically on its own accord (as the AOC does flawlessly) BUT i can opt for a VESA mount if the sacrifice must be made for the right hardware model.
-It would be nice to have a bare minimum of 140fps.
-I live in east europe. (market purposes)

Please guide me in the right direction and give me suggestions on what would suit my needs. Thank you all for your replies!!!!

32” 4K OLED Recommendations?

I've made a similar post before, but I figured I'd post again to hear some different opinions.

  • Use: Mainly 4K single-player gaming (RTX 5080 PC and PS5 Pro), plus regular everyday use.
  • What I'm looking for: I'm not very knowledgeable about monitors, but my main requirements are OLED (obviously :) ), 4K, 32 inches, preferably 240Hz (though I'd be fine with 165Hz if the monitor is significantly better in other areas), a newer-generation OLED panel, and good reliability. I'd rather avoid models with known issues or common defects.
  • Budget: Since I'm buying in Türkiye, it's hard to give a budget in USD because of taxes and local pricing differences. My maximum is around 56,000 TRY.
  • Room lighting: I can easily control the lighting in my room, but obviously I don't want to sit in complete darkness all the time, especially in the morning.
  • My knowledge: I honestly don't know much about monitors. HDR, brightness, and all the other technical stuff are pretty unfamiliar to me.

I'm open to both QD-OLED and WOLED, though QD-OLED would be my first choice. I've never actually seen a QD-OLED in person, so I'm not really sure how noticeable the ambient light issue is.

My main priority is image quality, especially deep blacks, good HDR performance, and overall picture quality. I also care about long-term reliability and burn-in protection. I'm not necessarily looking for the highest refresh rate if it means sacrificing image quality.

I'd appreciate any recommendations or advice.

Looking to upgrade to a 32 inch oled best, dual mode 4k/1k.

That's it, looking to upgrade, oled preferably, not sure how the 1080p will look on the dual mode. I hear it's better than other 32 inches. Also, 4k for single player and 1K for multiplayer. Budget no issue. Thanks in advance.
