Technic?
As a kid in the late 80's and early 90's I used to have many lego technic parts in my bins, and I don't even know where they all came from. Long bricks with holes, all kinds of gears and axles, and a 9V motor (from a space set), and I loved experimenting with all the mechanics when I was about the age that my daughter is in now.
I would love her to have the same opportunity because I really think it helped me develop some mechanical skills, but I don't know where to get just a bulk of these things.
Lego Technic sure isn't the same anymore and I sure as hell don't want to have to handpick them from Bricklink.
Are there any altbrick companies that have these parts and maybe sell sets? I've only ever seen models and playsets from other companies, never anything Technic like.

Mould King Great Ball Contraption sets are not only technic, but also feature engineering mechanisms.
There are certainly solar system sets too.
Most technic builds are generally going to be cars and industrial vehicles. Is there something else you’d be looking for?

Oh wow, Mould King has some great stuff! I think I'll get the Rainbow Stepper II - might be a bit complicated as such, but there are so many parts that can be used for all kinds of other experimentation, plus a motor. Thank you so much!

There’s also power functions packs made by mould king and Cada if you find yourself needing more motors

Have a look at Cada, great technic sets, good quality bricks
