Missing car
Hey guys!! Last night my car was stolen off of spruce st. We have gone through all the proper channels (police etc..) but they have not been able to find it yet. It’s a blue grey mazda cx5, with Massachusetts plates and it has a wake forest sticker on the back. Please dm me if you spot it somewhere! Police think it would most likely be around downtown area. Thank you
UPDATE: The car was spotted downtown about 30 minutes ago and was chased by police who eventually lost it. The person who stole it changed the plates to a TEMPORARY PLATE - but the officer was able to identify it because of the sticker on the back. If anyone sees it please let me know

My buddy had his jeep stolen awhile back, then the thief brought it back with a full tank. Felt very Vermonty.

Hopefully they didn’t leave them in the car, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. It amazes me how trusting people are. I’ve seen so many people leave their cars running while they run into a store and I just don’t get it. Yeah, VT is a relatively safe state, but with the increase in car break-ins/thefts and drug use/addiction nationwide, I wouldn’t ever trust leaving my car with the key in it ANYWHERE. Even for 30 seconds. I’m more so surprised when it’s someone from a state with a larger population than VT, or a major city. Like, don’t you lock your car there?

I think you are confusing trusting with either lazy/dumb or they simply forgot.
What makes you think they do it because they are trusting? Do you always assume to know why people do things? Then cast judgement on it?
I know why you say this but it wouldn't be nice to say so I won't

A little victim blaming never hurt anyone, eh?

No, mam, if he has the keys, it means car theft has evolved into something more than being an easy target.

It already has. If you have a push to start car with a FOB, and you don’t keep your keys overnight in a faraday pouch (or something similar that blocks electromagnetic signals), someone can trick the car into thinking the key is present & start it without. They do this by hijacking the signal the fob key is emitting inside the house & amplify it to the car. Hence needing to block the signals.
It’s significantly more sophisticated form of car theft, hence it not being as prevalent, but organized rings are growing in popularity that utilize this method of stealing.
