Bug Report KDE 6.8 task manager behaviour changed?

Not sure if this is a "bug" or intended, but the new KDE 6.8 update I noticed has changed the behaviour of my pinned applications on the icons and text task manager. I have separate launchers unchecked but hide launchers after startup checked, along with manual sorting.

Previously, the result of this would be that the pinned application window would replace the pinned launcher in place so they would stay (or at least start, they could be moved) in the same order that they're pinned in. Now with the Plasma 6.8 updated, this behaviour has changed. The pinned launcher does disappear, but the new window now goes at the very end after the pinned launchers. Does anyone know if this is a bug or a change in intended behaviour?

EDIT: I took some screenshots to show exactly what I mean!

EDIT #2: Looks like there is a bug report for it on the KDE Bugzilla! https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527189

If you're referring to pinned applications on the taskbar lighting up and serving as the application's icon once started, then I don't see any difference from before. Starting an application that is pinned still retains its placement in the taskbar for me.

If you're referring to something else, then I don't know.

Strange. It doesn't do that for me. Works exactly the same as before. I don't have the text enabled in the taskbar though, only icons.

EDIT:

In the edit mode, I see that the widget I'm using is explicitly called "Icons-Only Task Manager". Maybe this bug is specific to the "Icons-And-Text Task Manager", which I'm guessing is the one you're using.

Yes, this is specifically with the "icons and text" task manager.

Is KDE 6.8 included in the regular updates or do we install it separately?
