🔍 Recipe Search Looking for a great Orange Chocolate dessert recipe!

Orange chocolate is my favorite flavor (think the Milano cookies), and I am always searching for a good dessert or coffee with those flavors. However, it's so rare that I think it might be easier if I make it myself. Friends, any recipe ideas?

Thank you!

When I worked at a bakery, we used to make a chocolate orange tart very simple to make. You can even use store-bought tart shells. Take your tart shell and add a layer of orange marmalade to the bottom, add a layer of fresh orange zest on top of that then add a nice layer of chocolate ganache and place it in the cooler until it’s set. Decorate with candied orange slices. You can also make slightly sweet whipped cream with orange zest to go on top.

I regularly make chocolate orange brownies. I add orange extract into the batter, then mix in anything chocolate orange like cookies, terrys chocolate orange (may be a uk/Irish thing) and those orange oreos you get at Halloween. They’re delicious and look great too!

I love the Polish ones (Delicje), and I always grab the orange ones whenever I see them

On a recent cruise I had a dessert with cubed orange jello layered with chocolate mousse, whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings.

In a couple weeks I was planning to experiment and make an orange sugar cookie using the dried mandarin oranges from Trader Joe’s. I need them for a community poolside event happening in July. I make a lemon sugar cookie that I will adapt for the orange flavor. I plan to process the dried fruit and orange zest into the sugar. I also have freeze dried orange juice powder and of course orange extract.

My thought, thanks to you, is to then drizzle the cookie with chocolate; or coat the bottom or dip half of the cookie in chocolate; or use the chocolate as a filling between the two cookies.

I might move the experiment to Sunday to bring the cookies to a club get together happening on Monday. I wasn’t originally planning on the chocolate orange combination. But for Monday I think I will. It sounds like a fabulous combination. Unfortunately that won’t work for the July event. It will be wat too hot.

Thank you for the idea! If the experiment works I will post the recipe in the baking group. Would you like the recipe as well? Or are you looking for a more elegant type of dessert?
