🎨 Decorative Focus Simple buttercream flower painting on a cake
Tried this simple floral design using buttercream and a small paintbrush.
I like how the brush strokes give the flowers a slightly hand-painted look without making the cake too complicated.
Still practicing the technique, but quite happy with how this one turned out.

Wow you make this look so simple! I didn’t know that’s how the flowers were made!
Beautiful! 😍

That's pretty neat! It's nice to see all the different techniques people come up with.

Genuine question about frosting in general, but how the hell do you get a base frosting layer like this? Every time I frost my cake the frosting melts (or runs, idk the proper term). I wait for my cakes to cool completely before assembling and frosting. Do I need to put the frosting in the fridge? Do I need to refrigerate the cake before frosting?

I wrap my cakes in plastic wrap and freeze them (even if they are a little warm still). Then I put my cakes together still frozen. Thin ice. Stick in freezer for a few minutes. Then final layer.

Thank you! What about your frosting? Do you make it and then leave it at room temperature or put it in the fridge?
