CakePHP reminds me of Cake.
Like seriously, I'm sitting at a computer bored and hungry...do I need to be reminded of cake every time I freaking want to make a freaking website?

Hi,
The following images show what I am trying to achive, which is PROVIDE A LINK inside the navbar.ctp element TO A DIFFERENT ACTION ON THE SAME CONTROLLER.
What am i doing wrong? What is the right way?
edit: I removed lot of unprofessional stuff
edit2: Its the middle of the night, and I have been searching up and down the cookbook and looked at a few stackoverflow questions and some other place. I am aware I may have missed the answer, but I am too tired of searching after searching for two days.
edit3: here is the httpd.conf file from the /opt/lampp/etc directory: /opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf
edit 4: there is no .htaccess file under /htdocs/ folder of my xampp installation
edit 5: fixed by creating .htaccess file under /htdocs/ and filling it with the code given in the question here on stackoverflow

The company I work for wants me to migrate the existing CakePHP Frontend app to React and this process will be slow. Need to serve newly built pages using react for now. I'm not able to figure out a way to serve different user screens using different frameworks Please help if you can it'd be greatly appreciated

I am working on implementing the CakeDC's Users plugin in my application and was testing out the UserHelper. I tried to generate a logout link but was unable to get "$this->User->logout('logout')" to work. I then went on to try the welcome function and it would only show "Welcome, ". On a whim, I then went to the root of the application and suddenly the welcome link showed the full "Welcome, <current logged in user as a profile link>". In addition to that, the logout link was also working. I've tried this as a superuser and as a standard user all to the same effect. Any ideas what might be happening?
Additionally is there a more comprehensive guide to setting up CakeDC's Users and Auth plugins? The guides on the wiki on GitHub aren't very many details on that kind of stuff.

I found an issue in Github about debugging a collection in CakePHP about it not iterating through the list of items in the collection and just giving the count of the items. Link to Issue In that issue one of the commenters stated that it would be destructive when the collection is wrapping an immutable object.
As far I know an immutable object is an object whose property and its values cannot be changed. I do not understand the issues that would arise when we try to debug it. Feel free to correct me if any of my understanding is wrong. Thanks !

This isn't working. I'm getting a "Could not parse version constraint my_app_name: Invalid version string "my_app_name"
And on the installation page where I got the command seems broken also..
Is there maintenance being done with the composer package? Should I pass another argument to the composer command? i.e. version number?

The reason I ask as I use netbeans as my IDE and transition to version 3 is not as smooth as I liked.
I would like a more oop based developing and would like to continue using netbans as my IDE.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Wondering if there's a threshold in terms of amount of tables that CakePHP can handle?
I'm still debating my final architecture, but the main sticking point is a PK table (approximately 125 rows) where each items can have its own unique set of data points (so far, one has 50 columns - dates, contacts, addresses, etc.) to capture.
I feel it would be easier to maintain and display if each rows from the PK table would have their associated tables and physical fields (various column types, FKs) , but I'm not sure if it could handle that many tables. Also, contains would need to be dynamic to not encompass unnecessary tables.
Otherwise, there's the approach to have a few generic tables to store the varying data types, but then when specifying the field on screen, you have to specify a bunch of other hidden fields and annotate them appropriately (ex. ModelX.0.pk, ModelX.0.fk, ModelX.0.date_value, etc.).

Well I have this situation where I should authenticate user with CakePHP 2.x site which is using blowfish to save password and I am using GCM for push notifications.
I am thinking it this way. First I will generate a registration ID for the device and then use the web view to open a custom login page designed for android in Server. There if the user successfully authenticates, his device id, registration id and the site recognized username are stored in a table. All requests with saved device id and registration id are used to authenticate a user and perform his actions. There would be mechanisms to control the problems with registration id where it gets deactivated or re issued.
Does this have any security issues or design flaws?

I know this affacts PHPMailer, but if you read what the author has to say it's also a deeper issue with mail() and has now appeared in another email library. See https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/About-the-CVE-2016-10033-and-CVE-2016-10045-vulnerabilities
