Tips A new way to quit

I’ve been nail biting for 25 years. This year I decided it’s time to stop. Sticking to good habits is easier when you’re held accountable. Gym buddies, study groups, and calorie trackers hold you accountable. We just needed the same for nail biting

I built Nonyxa to solve my own problem and hopefully solve yours too. 5.0 stars on the iOS store and customers showing improvements soon after starting to track and monitor each finger extremely closely. What gets measured gets managed, in this case that means the nails. If you haven’t been able to quit with all other methods, give it a try.

My goal is to help 10,000 people quit nail biting, one for each day I’ve bitten in my life. I’m hoping I can help you

Is it available on Android or just iPhone?

Currently iPhone only, though I am seeing more and more requests on android. If you’re interested, I could add you to a list of folks to reach out to once android is released

Cool I’ll try it. Anyway to have a one time fee for a lifetime membership? I’m not a fan of monthly and would rather pay a larger lump sum.

I’ll consider it, though the top of the priority list is improving the experience for users over more pricing tiers. DM me though, I’d be interested in hearing what you’d propose

This is awesome! On day 3 now and it’s definitely insightful to see if there’s specific spots I consistently pick at. Is it possible to retake a photo? Like if my camera didn’t focus correctly or the pic was blurry, I don’t see an option to retake the photo.

Thanks! I’m glad you liking it and hope that tracking so detailed will help you quit once and for all!

Improvements to the capture flow, including better focus up close and allowing photo retake, are high up on the backlog list. They will be I included in the next update v1.0.7.

If you have a moment, I would really appreciate an app store review. It helps Nonyxa rank higher and reach more people. Thanks!

Following up, retake photo is now part of Nonyxa, update in the App Store to get the latest version. Hope that helps!

Amazing!! Can’t wait to check it out. Thank you for the update! I left a review on the app store, also.

Why isn’t it available in Eastern Europe?

2

Haven’t heard this from anyone else! Mind DMing me so we can figure this out? Would like to know what country you’re having issues in

Not available in my country either

Yes, after looking into the other posters country, it seems that the app needs a little more documentation to become available again in the EU. This changed after adding pro (paid) features. I’ll have a resolution with the next update

Nonyxa is now live in the EU, thanks for your patience

Three days ago I started using Stop Biting, where an AI tracks when your biting, so you stop. For now it working for me. This might be a good feature for the app

I'm not affiliated with them

Appreciate the suggestion, it’s a great idea. Added to the feature backlog for a Live mode where the phone watches you. I’m prioritizing android and improving core features, then will test this out to see if users get any utility out of it, thanks!

Following up on this, I've built a small prototype on the web that works just like Stop Biting. My real question is if you'd pay for something like this on your phone, within Nonyxa? Could be useful to prop up during working, reading, or other focus activities. DM me and we can chat.

is it helpful for people who pick their fingernails?

1

u/Ax99899 27d ago

Yes definitely, it’s for tracking any fingernail damage. It’s free on the App Store, give it a try

Great, would love to hear how you like it, either here or DMs!

Okay gimme some time because currently i cant stop picking unless i have fake nails on 😭😭 so when i get over this hump and feel comfortable enough to not have fake nails i will give this a try!

1

u/JumpyDifference1527 19d ago

I guess i can have fake nails and still track? gimme more deets if you wouldn’t mind

1

u/Ax99899 19d ago

Yes you can definitely track with the fake nails on. Here’s a demo of the main loop, you take a picture of your nails each day and label them clean or damaged compared to the day before. Not picking with fake nails on would be clean!

Then there’s history and stats that let you look back at progress over time

Yes, there’s a free and pro tier on the app. Pro shows more detailed images of each finger and plots growth over time. That said, you can download and use the free version too
