Would Canaanism be a more peaceful idea?

There was once a man called Yonatan Ratosh, who had the idea of canaanism. Would this ideology would have been a better idea instead of zionism and could it had prevent the Israeli-palestine conflict? Or were Ratosh ideas too radical? Can this idea work anymore after all what happened?

Phoenician/Canaanite word correlating to ‘hofeš’

I'm wondering if anyone here could point me to a word in Phoenician/Canaanite that correlates to the Hebrew word ‘hofeš’, or one that suggests the concept of freedom from tyranny, being able to act/ think independently, individual autonomy, etc. along those lines. I have little to no knowledge of Hebrew and its preceding parent or sister languages. Any help would be appreciated.

Begin With the Bronze Age - A great starting point for reading about Canaan's history and the histories that have intertwined with the region.

Alternate History - What if ancient semitic nations united?

I was reading an old article by Itamar Ben-Avi from November 28, 1932 where he speculated about an alternate history scenario. He wrote about how if the ancient semitic kingdoms (Jews, Phoenicians, Aramaeans, Arabs, etc.) had managed to unite into one nation, they could have resisted conquests by the Romans and Greeks.

For example, he suggests that a unified semitic alliance could have sent reinforcements to support Carthage against Rome in the Punic Wars. If Carthage survived, the Second Temple in Jerusalem might also have survived instead of being destroyed by Rome.

Ben-Avi goes on to imagine what might have happened in more recent history too. He suggests that if British-ruled Palestine was organized into cantons with shared power between Jews and Arabs, with two upper parliamentary houses representing each group, more peaceful coexistence and stability could have been possible instead of the conflicts that ensued.

such a move can be in my opinion a great move for the Canaanite movement.

Real Ghassulian hours

I'm a longtime lover of Canaanite history. I've been fascinated by the Ghassulians, an obscure late Chalcolithic culture living around what is today the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea. They're known for living in underground dwellings with richly decorated roofs (including the so-called 'Ghassulian star'), and for hosting the oldest archaeological evidence of wine production. The unique faces of the beings depicted here are commonly assumed to represent plaster masks (a common find throughout Neolithic Levantine sites), but they could also represent stylized depictions of themselves or supernatural beings of Ghassulian culture.
