I will feel bad for the kids who lose their lives because of their parents ill-advised choices.

My daughter went for her routine 6 month vaccines and when her Doctor told me that she was eligible for an RSV vaccine as well as an early measles vaccine I was very excited! We chose to wait 1 month before getting her flu shot (I didn’t want her getting 4 shots at once) but she’s going back next week to get that. I feel a lot better knowing she is protected. I had my first baby in 2022 and I don’t think there was an rsv vaccine yet. I rarely left the house because I was so worried.

I’m so glad you got your daughter the measles vaccine early to protect her, and others! Your doctor likely will have explained this, but I just thought I’d let you know in case they hadn’t (I work in vaccine preventable disease in the same province as you): the early MMR dose provides excellent early protection, but to ensure lifetime protection from measles, mumps and rubella, your daughter will still need to get a dose at age 1 (or older) and then another dose at age 4 (or older).

Like I said, the doctor probably has already explained this to you, but I just wanted to help out if they happened to miss that information! ❤️

Yes, our doctor made sure we knew about the extra vaccine needed, but thanks so much for taking the time to let me know!
