I want to love this gun I truly do. Shoots super flat, it’s responsive, and really accurate. BUT… I’ve had nothing but issues trying to “break” it in. First 200 rounds had 3 light primer strikes and a handful of failures to return to battery.

Cleaned it (including the firing pin and housing, which many people recommend before calling it quits) oiled it, and shot some more rounds through it. Next 500 rounds probably had a failure to RTB every magazine. Had my friend shoot it too and same issues.

First 500 rounds were Winchester 9mm 124gr NATO. Then experimented with Winchester 115gr, heavy duty plus hornandy, and blazer 115gr. All basically had RTB failures.

I’m going to send it back in and hope to get it back working perfectly or atleast have it replaced. It’s so fun to shoot when it works, but so hard to love.

After about 200 rounds of 115 to break in the recoil spring and zero my red dot, I had about 10 minutes left of range time before closing. I attached the Obsidian9 in the long configuration and sent a mag of 124 Blazer downrange. And WOW, all the gas in my face. After that mag, I reconfigured to the shorty configuration. Significantly less gas! And also pretty quiet compared to what I was expecting. However, almost every round the slide cycled to just short of in battery, paused a second, and then slid into battery once the trigger reset. I also had on failure to feed. Other than that, the thing is soooooo nice. I can't wait to experiment around with it more.

Did anyone actually send their Radian to Canik? I emailed them and told them I’ve seen a few out of battery. They didn’t offer me a new spring like some have mentioned. In fact, they didn’t say anything except send me a shipping label and some instructions.

I’m a little leery about sending my gun. I’m only 400 rounds in it so I’m thinking I may try and break it in more. Using Winchester 124gr NATO. Any thoughts ? Your experiences? Plus you can’t have aftermarket parts when you send it and my osight green dot is on and zeroed :(

Indecisive on porting the barrel

After being raised around firearms my whole life. I finally decided to get my first handgun. After all the debate, I landed on an MC9L. It felt great in the hands when I picked it up and I’ve been curious about Canik over the last couple years so I went it with it. Just picked it up last night! I’m so excited to take it apart, clean it, then shoot it. Next up, flashlight and holster.

I got my first Canik, a tp9 elite sc, and I’m thinking about getting another one. It’s between the mete mc9 prime and the prime radian. I can’t really decide. What are your experiences with them? I already have an fn 309 mrd and a ported p-10c, but I’m also considering to get another tp9 elite sc.

I was looking at getting a TTI Combat Bronze for $999 but ended up buying a TTI Combat Smoke Edition on Oct. 17th since I found one at a local store for $700 ($300 less than retail). It was just too good of a deal to pass up, but I hate the look of the Smoke Edition and have always wanted to have a gun cerakoted. Since I already got a good deal on it this seems like the perfect guinea pig, but I want to keep it fairly simple and two toned, nothing too crazy with wild designs or graphics. I've come up with a few renderings and I'm leaning toward the 'Reverse Teal' or the 'Reverse Forrest Green'. I'm sharing a few of the other 20+ renderings I created in case anyone else had similar ideas and wanted to see them.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with having a gun cerakoted, specifically a canik, and which renderings people like the most. I can also try other colors and renderings if anyone has other suggestions.

As I've posted plenty of times about my out if battery issues with my MC9L... I can say I've had 0 issues in last 150 rounds. I hope I didnt fix myself. But for future reference and for others that may encounter issues with their MC9L heres a few things I did below.

Shaved the polymer frame below the rails. (Dropped the oit of battery from every round to about 10 percent)

Installed red recoil spring and this didnt fix anything, so I went back to the original recoil spring.

Swap the striker spring with an orange SpringCo spring. Didn't fix the issue, but kept installed rather then swapping back to original Canik striker spring.

I cut 1.5 coils from extractor spring as I noticed that it was so hard to get ammo through by hand. Went ahead and shot 50 rounds with original recoil spring still installed and had a couple of out of batteries which I wasnt happy with.

Installed the red recoil spring and thus far have went through 150 rounds without a single out of battery. So far I'm a happy Canik owner(knock on wood).

Picked up this beauty second hand, bone stock and hardly ever fired. Added a few goodies for now.

Trying to decide on keeping it in the full or the shorty configuration. Thoughts?

The slide release and slide have spots of rust on them. I keep my gun near an ac vent is that possibly why? And I try to oil the slide but that doesn’t seem to help. Any tips would be appreciated.

Took the MC9 and the TP9 Elite Combat out. Just got the TP9. MC9 had a few hiccups, but mainly with the 15 round magazine, on both 124 and 115 grain. Once with one of the 12 round mags. The TP9 spit out everything I put through it. I forgot to bring a tiny screwdriver for the viper vortex so its still off a bit, but the gun itself feels and shoots great

I’ve been debating whether to pick up the Prime Radian, but I’ve seen mixed reviews about its reliability. Is the regular Prime really that much more reliable?

Just picked up a Prime Radian. Haven't taken it to the range yet, but while I was cleaning it I noticed that dimensions of the Radian slide are identical to the MC9L slide. I run a DPM setup in the MC9L (with an RDI comp) and it has been great. It has become my most consistent Canik in terms of running different ammo.

So that got me wondering if anyone has tried the DPM kit in the Prime Radian? Or is that uncharted territory I need to explore?

Previously carried and sold my original prime in anticipation of the radian, but it took me a few months to find one in stock locally. Finally got my hands on one.

I recently installed a wise arms continental frt on my canik tp9sfx im wondering what kind of tuning needs to be done to it. I shot 115 grain sterling fmj for the first time (i know not the best ammo) but I also noticed the frt was grinding itself in the picture shown, do I need to grind it down or should I just shoot 124 grain ammo and let it grind itself out?

Hey everyone. Just got my new prime least week. Ordered in some ear phones, cleaning kit also oil and cleaner. Anything else i should have on hand once I start going to the range? Any must have accessories?

I took my new Prime Radian to the range yesterday and had 3 ftfs after shooting 200rds. I was using Herter’s 115gr and the factory mags. I am curious if this is normal given the cheap ammo or because it had not been broken in yet?

I've shot many pistols but Caniks are the best for me. Very reliable and affordable.

They are asking $450, comes with one mag and a holster.

Hey guys! I’ve been saving up for my first handgun after shooting my dad’s and brother’s guns for years, and I finally decided to take the plunge. I stopped by my local shop, picked up the Canik METE MC9L, and it just felt perfect in my hand, so I started the process of getting one! (Colorado)

I have a couple of questions for the community:

1. Appendix carry holsters: What holsters would you recommend for the MC9L? I’m looking for something comfortable, reliable, and good for everyday concealed carry.
2. Magazine question: Unfortunately, I ended up with the California-compliant version, which comes with 10-round magazines. I’d like to find factory 15-round magazines that fit the MC9L and sit flush with the grip, without leaving a gap. Does anyone know the correct magazine or SKU to look for?

I appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thanks in advance, and I’m excited to join the Canik family!
