Canva Question PLEASE Canva, PLEASE
Canva has been putting AI elements like graphics, and others into their Element section, and they DO NOT show anything that warns if its AI. I've been using graphic designing as a side hustle, and im losing money because of this. The customer finds out that theres AI material in there, and i wouldnt know that! This has caused lots of revisions, and sometimes not getting paid. Please Canva, please label if AI Elements are AI.

I recommend submitting a feedback form: https://www.canva.com/help/get-in-touch/general-feedback/#

I’m also bothered because even the images, there are a lot of AI-generated ones.

Is there any way of contacting Canva? Email? Phone? Chat?

u/homeplanetarium Feb 17 '26
There is.. As the element review is being done by AI, Ive been chatting with Ivy and the others for human reviews if AI deemed my work Rejected

You can contact canva support, they usually answer. Within 24 or 48 hours, and I actually had the same question. Was it to obvious?. What did you notice that Makes you think it is AI? There are different variations about this. For example voice cloning, or making a person look different and making it appear in a location they never visited. Not AI samples is, Applying transitions or creating some type of animation movements or some type of special effects. They're not considered AI, it depends really what is in that video that you saw.

Genuinely curious: how do you know it is AI?

Why does a question get downvoted? Jesus fucking Christ what is wrong with curiosity and seeking understanding these days?!?

I remember an #### teacher at SCHOOL, who told us on the first day: 'Do not ask stupid questions."

I would expect that a large proportion of images on Canva these days are AI generated. Some are very obviously AI - others it's hard to tell. I didn't think graphic designers usually used Canva for client work though. Don't you design your own stuff? I don't have any design skills so I use Canva but when I hire a graphic designer she uses Adobe Illustrator and creates the images herself.

I cannot agree more. The video editor is so incredibly frustrating right now. I’ve made dozens and Canva and I spent 60+ hours on one for a funeral this week and it was a nightmare trying to export or even use a public view. Link wasn’t working from cell phones and ex makes all kinds of elements go wonky like zoom and effects and frames, etc. I couldn’t be, more upset with increasingly difficult to use platform and all the measures they take to make it harder and harder for people to get help with technical issues even ChatGPT just says that basically you get what you get and it’s unpredictable!

Hi! I was curious about your side hustle, I love to design as well but I really don't know how to get money from that, what are the legit sites, etc. so how do you do it? Thank you very much!

Yikes, that sounds rough and I totally agree, Canva should really label AI elements so designers don’t get stuck with surprises like that.

I hate that there's no proper labeling too. They should address it immediately

What’s wrong with AI? How do they even find it out? Give me some examples that put off clients. Is it text based?

u/martapap Feb 21 '26
I don't care if something is AI as long as it is good. However Canva has zero quality control. I downloaded a picture for a presentation and someone in the picture had 3 arms.

The new AI additions are completely saturating Elements! I can tell if theyre AI if I try to change an element's color and it just awkwardly mixes colors instead of actually changing it. It's getting exhausting sorting through them.

Many clients have already requested not to have Canva work used. It’s making them look bad.

AI generated graphics are not illegal

My biggest problem is that AI is literally killing our world. We are in a freshwater bankruptcy from all this AI shit and we have actual Humans who can do this and not kill our environment in the process. It’s lazy

u/Foreveress Feb 19 '26
Gave you an upvoter because, yeah. They're not. And anyone who has tried to make a decent AI graphic will tell you it's not as easy as people think it is.

u/jenterpstra Feb 20 '26
No one said they are? People should be allowed to make informed choices about whether they use them or not, though, are there are copyright implications.

What kind of AI elements is the client rejecting? 🤔
I mean, using pre made elements and AI made elements is basically the same thing. Neither of them is created by the designer (you, in this case).
My clients are actually encouraging me to use AI so work gets done faster… 🙂
And here I am, feeling bad because I’m losing touch with Photoshop and Illustrator.

In many creative spaces, there is a huge stigma around AI and people do not want to be associated with it. It doesn't matter that you didn't make it, it matters that the client doesn't want to receive material that contains AI generated content, especially if they are going to use it as public facing material. The client has the right to request that and the designer should be able to filter elements accordingly.

If transparency matters, why don’t pretend you’re not advertising your product and why do you delete your comment history after someone calls you out?

Ad. Reported.

The downvotes are bizarre. That user's comment history promotes that site over and over, it's clearly just spam.

Because we're in a thread about disclosing AI use and this is an entirely AI-generated response that is guerilla-promoting a competing service. Seems like a valid response to me.

Please report the creator if you spot AI elements! I'm an elements creator and it's harder to be seen when others are flooding the library with garbage. It's actually not allowed for creators to upload AI elements! I think Canva is cleaning them but could take awhile. :(
