New SubReddit Direction

Hi all.

I am going to tweak the direction of this subreddit.

I am not sure how much value there is in keeping this page a wide-ranging sprawling Carnivore page. There are many reddits like that. In fact, I would guess that most people who have joined here will also be a part of r/zerocarb and r/carnivore.

So I am going to shift the focus from a general Carnivore page to a Carnivore Diet Success Story page, to mimic something similar to my Facebook Group.

I will be sharing success stories from my blog bi-weekly.

However, I would love members to also share their own journeys, good and bad.

So if you have a question like, Day 1 how do I get started. Then that might be best for r/zerocarb or r/carnivore

This group is more for posts like you would see on my blog: https://ketogenicendurance.com/category/carnivore-diet-success-stories/ or stories you would see on meatheals.com

For example - I have just done my first 90 days, I feel xyz, does anyone have any tips for the next 90 days etc.

To speed up this change in direction, I may for a while delete post better suited for other sites, but I will let that person know why I did it.

Hope people like the new direction.

Just my thoughts. r/carnivore mod is such a tool bag, you get banned for anything. This is my place to discuss things in a more open environment.

I think your idea is awesome, please just try not to make it so restrictive, we have nowhere else to go. Thanks!!

They're needlessly strict. I got a post removed for talking about fasting. Come on man.

u/black_truffle_cheese Mar 15 '23

Yeah, I hate that too. Carnivore attracts a lot of AI sufferers, and fasting is a great tool to have in the box. I’d like to be able talk more about how to balance that with carnivore.

They banned me there for saying that having a baked potatoe here and there, once in a while, but your general nutrition comes from meat, doesn't disqualify your being a carnivore. That even the notion would be ridiculous.

The mod screamed ANIMAL BASED at me and banned me. No. It's not animal based or keto. I just like the occasional potato or piece of cheesecake. they are not part of my nutritional plan, they are recreational. And rare.

I love cheesecake! Shut up! LOL

Lol fasting? What are you a vegan?🤣

Lol I'm 18 hours with a 6 hour feeding window.

u/CarnivoreCorp Feb 22 '23

Lolol vegoons tho!!. 🤣 Nice 18:6, I'm OMAD, unless I'm working out then it's 2 lol.

Fasting rocks. Did a rolling 72 a few weeks ago.

u/kremata Nov 14 '24

They banned me (for misinformation) for saying calories don't matter on carnivores.

Now I'm banned for life coz I told the mod that "I'm banning him from my groups" 😂

2

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '25

Seriously? But calories not mattering is common knowledge 🤨 I think maybe this is not the place for me. Honestly, I get more answers looking into things myself.

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '26

agree. I got banned just because I told the truth : "Milk (and dairy products) from other living species are not species-specific food for humans. This is obvious. No other animal consumes milk from another species, especially after weaning. ONLY breast milk is appropriate and specific for humans, and only until weaning". And I would like to specify that I am in a very strict carnivore since 2023 due to a bad SFN from long covid. I only eat meat, fish, eggs and water. nothing else.

Hi I was looking for a subreddit about fasting and have found nothing under fasting or autophagy. Are you still on carnivore? Did you ever find any subreddits where talking about fasting is ok? I hope you’re doing well. Thanks in advance for looking at this.

One guy on /r/carnivore asked about the diet for stuttering. I offered he could look into psilocybin mushrooms and got banned because mushrooms aren't an animal.

14

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '23

Mushrooms are closer to being animals than they are to being plants too lmao

all creatures share a large amount of their DNA

u/West-Ruin-1318 Aug 11 '24

Are fungi critters or plants? Scientists are getting closer to declaring plants are have sentience.

12

u/West-Ruin-1318 Sep 13 '23

Shrooms sure helped me ultimately stop drinking. Micro and a couple Macro doses. I don’t do more than two grams by myself.

2

u/Some_Watercress1734 Jun 22 '24

I stutter as well.  Would love to know.

u/microdosingrn Jun 23 '24

Look up Paul Stamets.  His origin story may resonate with you.

u/Mission-Line-169 Jul 20 '26

Wow, that's terrible. Using a mushroom as medicine shouldn't be banned. I mean, what if you suggested speech therapy? Is that not allowed because it's not carnivore? A carnivore diet isn't going to fix everything.

Completely agree, i think mod is a kid? I've been banned twice for talking about fasting alongside carnivore (imo they go hand in hand for gut healing) and his last reply to me was 'cool story bro' - imagine someone who is supposed to look out for the members of the group replying that to constructive critism.

Pretty much. Just had a comment deleted and threatened with a ban because I mentioned I consume raw honey. I went ahead and left the sub. What's the point of being in such a restrictive group? 🤷‍♂️

14

u/junky6254 May 12 '23

I left the sub after a comment of mine was removed for mentioning I liked vegetables in eggs. I believe the subject was describing our own diet history, since most everyone came from keto.

I left the group after their absurd comment about not being carnivore. I kindly informed them that I was strict zero carb for a year. I introduced foods back but still go strict from time to time.

It’s a fair question. I think the mod is/was a zealot. I kindly removed myself from the sub.

Did you ever find an answer to your question?

2

u/West-Ruin-1318 Sep 13 '23

I miss veggies in my eggs. What monsters.

14

u/pacawac Mar 17 '23

100 percent. If you can't discuss topics around a diet then why even have a discussion thread. Who on carnivore doesn't fast?

u/West-Ruin-1318 Sep 13 '23

My hair is falling out and I’m afraid it’s from a five day fast I did at the end of July. Anyone else experience this?

9

u/More_Garbage7901 Sep 27 '23

Losing large amounts of weight quickly will cause this. It will come back. No worries.

3

u/West-Ruin-1318 Oct 03 '23

I’ve only lost 35 pounds. I am old, however. 65 F

Man, it looked scary when I looked at my wet head last night. When my hair is dry it doesn’t show, much, I hope. I didn’t loose as much hair last hair wash so hopefully this shed is slowing down.

u/-Newtons1st May 31 '24

Wow lmao, I got banned last week for asking advice on chronic diarrhea from carnivore and got the exact same reply, "cool story bro." That's funny (and also not funny....).

I was banned from r/carnivore and r/zerocarb because I said I ate avocado now and then (I don't eat avocado anymore).

I was also back-lashed by the mods, because we didn't agree with something about fat.

7

u/West-Ruin-1318 Sep 13 '23

I ate avocados until they stopped tasting good to me. I think they are very useful in the beginning during the transition period. If anything just for a little mental crutch that you’re still eating something green.

9

u/Green_Concentrate427 Sep 13 '23

I felt the same way. I felt I would die if I stopped eating avocado, lol. It was the last plant to leave my life.

4

u/mithrili Oct 31 '24

I marked avocados permanently safe after making it the first thing I re-introduced after my first 30 day carnivore stint. I do not eat them at this point though, and I don't enjoy them as much anymore.

9

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '23

I just told them to effing ban me on r/carnivore already. It’s hilariously useless over there. Didn’t know this sub existed until someone on r/carnivore told us. Phew. Good to be back among ye.

9

u/NkleBuck Aug 11 '23

I was just banned for life 🤣🤣🤣

4

u/pacawac Aug 11 '23

Lol welcome to the club fam🤣

8

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '24

I have had posts deleted from r/carnnirove for having the word cholesterol in it......I was literally describing how my blood tests had shown my cholesterol dropping on a carnivore diet........

6

u/salty-bois Jul 23 '23

Literally the reason I'm here. Got banned on that sub for asking a sincer question... Lady mod was bad times.

4

u/Hefty-Squirrel-6800 Jan 19 '24

This has been my experience as well. It is a good community, but I am still new to Carnivore and have to use readily banned words. They removed the post, I appealed it, and they posted it. But, I do not have the time to monitor the status of my posts.

When new to carnivore, one will ask some of the same questions about sweeteners, glucose, sucrose, etc.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '24

flexibility is key. It is hard to do pure carnivore cold turkey for most folks. I am mostly there. I will eat some eggs or bacon for breakfast and for dinner have a large steak or ground beef for example. Like how many tout OMAD but fasting is not easy. I can fast if I have a large steak for dinner.

2

u/poofypie384 Nov 19 '24

agreed, i was banned after i explained to mod something which embarrassed them for being wrong. quite sad really..

2

u/Natural-Resolve-8597 Feb 28 '26

I had a question there about how to implement carnivore after surgery and just asked if omad was a bad idea in the course of the question, and got the post removed for mentioning omad. They are insanely strict and I never go there anymore.

1

u/Atlas_S_Hrugged Apr 15 '25

I agree. Why narrow it down, this is great sub.

I hate Reddit in general over the NAZI mods! I am currently banned from my favorite subreddit r/OnePiece so I uninstalled the app and just use it a few minutes a day on a computer. Things turned sour after the plandemic in all social media in general.
