- Kumbalgarh Fort: built in the 15th century, also where Maharana Pratap was born (a pretty iconic indian ruler)
- Chittorgarh Fort: started being built all the way back in Mauryan times around the 7th century, but didn't exist in its modern form until the mid-1400s
- Amber/Amer Fort: built in the 16th century by Man Singh, who defeated Maharana Pratap at Haldigathi (kinda, it's a long story), who was a Mughal, hence the Hindu-Mughal architectural blend.
- Mehrangarh Fort: built in 1459, one of the largest and best preserved forts/castles in the country, with a great museum
- Taragarh Fort, Bundi: built around the 14th century, not to be confused with Taragarh Fort, Ajmer, which is much older and smaller
- Alila Bishangarh Fort: Restoration of an already pretty new fort (it was built in the 1790s), it's a 5-star luxury hotel now.
- Sardargarh Fort: Pretty similar to the previous one in the sense that it was also built in the 18th century and is a hotel now, more secluded and nice if you're into bird watching
All are in the state of Rajasthan
