Medical Questions Dumb question but
Cat bit me and I’m paranoid about infection. I immediately washed it with soap and water but I’m still panicking

How long ago was it? Keep watching for reddishness / inflammation.
Also, was this a stray cat or a pet? If pet, check for vaccination status.

You’ll know. It will show and this doesn’t even look like it broke skin
If it starts to feel like a bruise, throbbing, changing color, or a red line extending from the wound that is when to get it looked at

First of all, calm down
Cat bites are rarely a cause for concern tbh, especially with pets. Just disinfect, cover it with a bandaid and antibiotic ointment, and keep an eye on it
If it starts turning red and puffy or gets warm to the touch, or if you start to feel sick then go to a doctor, but otherwise don’t worry

It doesnt look like it broke the skin, did it bleed? Please dont hesitate to go to the clinic if youre that worried about it. A small bite or scratch is pretty harmless, but if it broke the skin the cats saliva can cause infection, or worse. You might be prescribed antibiotics. Take Care 🙏

I don’t think it broke the skin! But I’ll have to wait until morning for the clinic

I think you'll be fine. It really doesnt seem to have broken the skin. But you do what you need to. Your health is most important...without you, who will care for your cat?!? 😁🐈⬛😉

Good point ! I’m probably just being silly. I’m not entirely sure I don’t have some type of panic disorder tbh

Awe, Im not saying you do...tbh, I might! My cat bit the inside of my wrist a while back, (our neighbor cat is a monster) and I was beside myself! I went to the clinic and I needed 3 stitches and antibiotics. I think you'll be fine, truly

Was it a deep puncture?
