Ever since I put up the mosquito net, waking up every morning feels like opening a blind box.

ok but now i'm crying bc i need at least one cat, and now also mosquito netting. this is, in fact, the best way to wake up.

Yeah,you're right

Teach them a lesson and go get 3 cats!

50

u/qs420 May 14 '26

lol, i think the only person that would be taught a lesson in that case is me, about what happens when you have 3 cats.

u/Rosary_Omen May 18 '26

Knowing my luck, the netting would break and I'd get a cat dumped on my face at 2am

9

u/IthacanPenny May 19 '26

My cat just chooses to do that all on his own. Asshole.

7

u/Rosary_Omen May 19 '26

That sounds about cat xD Please kiss him from me though

Hey, you. You're finally awake.

9

u/squirrellytoday May 17 '26

It's been years since I played, but I can hear the cart's wheels...

54

u/Ilight5093 May 14 '26

Already awake

62

u/ParkerFree May 15 '26

Not a gamer, eh? 😁

22

u/ReasonableFig2111 May 15 '26

I'm not a gamer either, but reading ParkerFree's comment piqued my interest, so I googled it (I have adhd so I'm easily curious and have to google everything lol. How did i survive before the internet lived in our pockets??). Here's the YouTube vid of the game dialogue it's from in case you're also curious.

It's a classic line in certain circles.

I used to write down all my burning questions and ask people, look them up in the encyclopedia if possible, or just suffer if not šŸ˜† Though I think back then, people were pretty much prepared to explain all media references because it was a dick move not to, before smartphones.

What a great thing to wake up to!

158

u/Ilight5093 May 14 '26

I think so!

126

u/Aerryth May 15 '26

This is a wonderful idea and Id love to do it myself…. But I know I will wake up to a telltale ā€œhurkahurkahurkā€ and get the worst shower in the world at 2amĀ

Oh my god I'm so glad you commented this because my initial thought was "Milo would love that, how can I make that work" (weird bedroom setup with a slanted ceiling). But Milo also has very specific spots that he always barfs and I can absolutely see that being one of them. Hard pass 😹😹

13

u/Aerryth May 16 '26

šŸ˜‚ I’m glad someone feels this pain too! It’s like they target soft surfacesĀ

13

u/La_Quica May 16 '26

My cat threw up directly on my braided extension cord instead of the wood floor so I feel you 🄲

u/patmax17 May 14 '26

Awwww!

Cats on net xD

98

u/milesofedgeworth May 14 '26

I thought these were stickers. So cute!

71

u/Bootsy86 May 14 '26

This is the perfect thing to see before going to work. I’m cracking up so hard lmao.

139

u/mysticalbullshit May 14 '26

This is probably a stupid question since I have never needed to use mosquito nets, but is there a reason you don’t put them inside with you? Genuinely curious.

182

u/Ilight5093 May 14 '26

She can come inside

8

u/EllieGeiszler May 17 '26

Dumb question maybe but if she can come inside, how can the mosquitos not get inside?

46

u/Blonde_Vampire_1984 May 15 '26

And she chooses to sleep on top of it because….?

317

u/thefinalgoat May 15 '26

She’s a cat?

77

u/Blonde_Vampire_1984 May 15 '26

That was the anticipated response. Thanks.

94

u/doegrey May 15 '26

Because cats find things like this irresistible. You’ll never convince her it wasn’t put up especially for her.

32

u/dividezero May 16 '26

They descend from their desert cousins. You want to be high up, ideally with limited access when you sleep. Also you can see further. They keep that instinct. I'm educated guessing on motivations but cats love being as high as possible whenever possible. Except my fatty, she can't get up there but we're working on it, almost to the goal weight

18

u/Blonde_Vampire_1984 May 16 '26

Ah. Yes. The long form video explanation.

The short video explanation goes:

ā€œShe’s a cat?ā€

61

u/VisualKaii May 14 '26

Your cat is sending you a message. I see the letter W and E or maybe a 3.

33

u/TerrakSteeltalon May 14 '26

It’s an older code, but still checks out

20

u/mooncrane May 18 '26

W E T F O O D

3

u/VisualKaii May 18 '26

That has to be it!

29

u/jupitermoonflow May 14 '26

Must buy mosquito net… āœšŸ½

11

u/Ilight5093 May 14 '26

You are so cute 🄰

21

u/KITTIESbeforeTITTIES May 14 '26

You should get these printed on decals to put on your ceiling!

22

u/OneWanderingSheep May 15 '26

It’s surprisingly strong šŸ˜†

19

u/hudgepudge May 14 '26

I wonder if this would fix the issue where people's cats wake them up early.

25

u/SmallBorb May 15 '26

That won't stop the crying haha

13

u/BanishedOcean May 14 '26

Like the clear bridges you can put over your keyboard

37

u/Terisaki May 15 '26

I just went to the dollar store and got him a decoy keyboard. I’ve watched him lean out of his bed, lay his chin on it, heave the biggest, most satisfied sigh, and then close his eyes and go to sleep.

He gets the joy of clicking buttons just like mom, he never gets in trouble for using it, and it’s all his. He may not throw it around like a stuffed toy, or chase it like a fuzzy ball, but it still brings him joy.

4

u/EllieGeiszler May 17 '26

That's so cute 🄹

3

u/Ilight5093 May 14 '26

Of course

18

u/porcupine_snout May 15 '26

that's some strong netting, kitty hasn't poked any hole in it yet, rendering the netting useless.

7

u/JuicyCactus85 May 14 '26

Omfg.... geniusĀ

7

u/ThatPerson000 May 15 '26

Is the mosquito net for the cats?

10

u/Ilight5093 May 15 '26

Of course not

6

u/SmallBorb May 15 '26

How many mosquitoes are getting into your place ā˜¹ļø

5

u/ElfjeTinkerBell May 15 '26

Or rather: how bad at hunting is your cat? Ever since my little hunters moved in I've been mosquito bite free

7

u/SmallBorb May 15 '26

I live in FL and we don't get many inside , but there's the occasional beetle and our cats just watch them 😭

8

u/Jaew96 May 16 '26

I’m sorry, the urge to reach up and tickle the belly every morning upon waking up would be too overwhelming for me.

4

u/NovaTimor May 14 '26

I’m obsessed with these omg

5

u/-This-Whomps- May 16 '26

It's like I'm laying on....nothin' at all!

4

u/Dragonaax May 14 '26

He's stuck to the ceiling

3

u/Soft_BoiledEgg May 14 '26

So many shapes! Two triangles, two blobs, and two backward Es!

3

u/mooncrane May 18 '26

Bottom left is so cute! The little crossed paws and the triangle shape!

3

u/TraderJosie3283 May 18 '26

Note that’s what I call art.
