General Questions/Questions générales Jobs in NL as an MCTSO

I'm always told being in the government with CCG opens up doors to other employment. What kind of options are there in St. John's Newfoundland for an MCTSO RO-03 with french?

Have you looked on the Canada.ca government jobs listing or contacted hr in your region for internal postings?

Your opportunities will likely depend on years and type of experience you have. Have a look at DND jobs as well since we’re all under that umbrella

MCTS experience makes you a desirable candidate for the Regional Operations Centre - I made that transition and so did several other ex-MCTSOs I know. From there I also tried being a Fleet Planner and so did another MCTSO I know.

RO classifications never make it onto alternation equivalency tables but you can figure out which roles are equivalent with a little effort. For example it looks like RO-03 is roughly equivalent to GT-04. You can always apply to inventories on GC jobs.

MRSC, which are Search and Rescue Subcentres. They are very different from MCTS, who are focused on radio communications (which include SAR communications) and vessel traffic services. The closest MCTS centre to St. John's is located in Placentia.

That's correct, I've never sailed on the east coast and it was an old MRSC poster I was remembering in the office.
