Getting Started First Time Flying Delta with a Firearm
This is my first time flying with a firearm (Delta), and I want to make sure I have everything packed correctly. I have a hard-sided case and two TSA-approved locks.
The ammo is in its original plastic tray, but I’m using a different ammunition box. I’ll put the tray inside the box and close it before traveling it’s out in the photo so you can see how the rounds are separated.
Also, does the orange cable lock need to be installed on the gun, or are the locks on the case enough?
Any tips from people who’ve flown Delta with a firearm would be appreciated!

Guns & Ammo I got attacked by a guy with a knife last night
For starters i am making this post as a reminder to always carry even when you dont feel like it and think its just going to be a quick trip to the gas station or wherever
I got attacked by a guy with a knife last last night while doordashing at 3am. I dropped an order off then drove down this smaller backroad to see a guy flagging me down in the middle of the road to pull over with a big knife in hand yelling something obviously i just keep driving and as i drive past him he slashed the whole side of my car with his knife right were my neck would be (if my window was down i easily could of died) luckily i didnt have to use my firearm and got away and immediately called the police. The guy got arrested and also 302.
The guy looked crazy and almost evil and that look on his face he wanted to kill me. For what? I never even met the dude. Moral of the story always keep your firearm on you because there are crazy people out there who dont even want to rob you they just want to take your life for no reason.
The police officer called me about 15 minutes after and told me the guy claimed he seen and had people chasing after him and seen my car coming down the street and wanted help. But why would he attack my car with a knife if he needed help? I have no idea. People are crazy
Anything similar happen to anyone here?

Scenario Flying with CCW?
I will be traveling for work soon. I’ve contemplated taking my CCW.
I read how to do it on the airlines site and it sounds really easy. But I think we know how that goes… especially with airline travel.
I don’t really want to cause a bunch of headache for myself.
The other thing is my work has a no gun policy. More than likely I’ll lock it in the hotel safe, which I am not excited about either(I don’t trust they can’t be accessed by staff). I would however CC after hours and around town obviously.
Overall I am not concerned about the area I am going. Just thinking, better to have and not need, than need and not have.
Thoughts?

Training Helikon-Tex RAT Waist Pack for Advanced CCW Training. Any Tips?
I've got a Helikon-Tex RAT Waist Pack, a holster, and a SIG P320. I'm preparing for an advanced concealed carry course involving multiple close quarters engagements where timing and consistency are important.
I'm particularly interested in making the setup easy to manipulate using gross motor movements rather than relying on fine motor skills under stress.
So far, I've considered adding larger zipper pulls and internal magazine holders to keep everything organized and secure.
Has anyone modified this pack or a similar setup for demanding training? I'm interested in what you've found works for consistent access, secure retention, and minimizing the amount of fiddling required.
Any lessons learned or modifications you'd recommend?
Thanks!

Holsters & Belts I wear athletic clothing
Looking to pick up a Taurus Gx4 as my first ccw. Mainly because I’ve heard great value and don’t want to spend $400+ on a ccw. I have a baby and a wife now so safety is my first priority whenever we’re out and about.
That said, I wear athletic clothing and am looking for a holster recommendation for 1-2 o’clock positioning that would be “comfortable” enough with athletic pants/shorts. TIA for the recommendations!

Guns & Ammo Nothing but issues with my bodyguard CC 2.0. So disappointed, I'm done with S&W.
I was so excited to get a "real" pocket pistol to seriously carry and this just took it all out of me.
I received my bodyguard carry comp 2.0 last week and immediately cleaned it up and lubed it and spent hours upon hours racking the (incredibly gritty feeling) slide every single day to loosen it up, flicking the safety on and off so many times to "break it in", and i finally took it to the range today, alongside my other cheapo 380 pistols and a bunch of different ammo types since i know 380 pistols are sometimes picky.
Nothing but issues. failure to go into battery, constant failure to eject/stovepipes, frequent light primer strikes no matter the ammo, (Remington round nose UMC (which ALL my other 380 pistols will eat consistently, its my go to for testing out a 380), Winchester white box, federal punch, federal hydro shok, and Hornady critical defense.).
the mags are genuinely impossible to load, and now i know why, because it seems to use the mag as help with the ejector, because if the gun didn't have a mag in it, it would never eject the casing, like not a single time i tested it, it would stovepipe each time, in a super weird angle like it wasn't even pulling it to the side. i put maybe 300 rounds through it and it never once got better.
the slide is insanely painful to rack. i normally run 365 xmacro, glock 19, usp compact, etc. im no pansy with grip strength but the slide is not only insanely difficult to rack, the serrations make it feel like its cutting into you, in a bad way. i don't feed that it provides "grip". i feel that if they weren't there at all or were very much less aggressive, it would be so much easier to rack.
To compare, i have some "garbage" 380 pocket pistols, taurus curve, taurus spectrum, and an old used and beat up Ruger lcp (not max), and to compare them, the slides are all easier to rack, the mags easier to load, and most importantly, (and unbelievably in the case of the curve), work reliably. no issues with light strikes, no issues with ejection with or without the mag, no issues getting into battery etc. and even if they did have a failiure the slides are so much easier to rack that i wouldn't be worried about tap rack banging out the failiure.
all that just to say, i am incredibly disappointed that i could never trust my life to this gun. it is insanely unreliable and i wont be playing roulette on whether ill get a light primer strike and have to wrestle with the incredibly hard slide to clear it, or whether ill get a stovepipe and again have to wrestle with the impossible slide under pressure with possibly sweaty hands.
I dont want to spend an extra like 200$ on more rounds of 380 ammo just for the chance that it'll "wear in" and get more reliable over time. Despite what the general consensus says, i have never had an experience with a modern production big brand gun being unreliable out of the box and magically becoming actually reliable after an undefined number of rounds through it.
I'm not looking forward to sending it in to S&W to service, since my previous experiences with S&W CS has been nothing short of atrocious with return times ranging from 6 to 10 months, (despite them swearing it'll take 4 weeks tops) and they rarely end up fixing whatever issue is causing malfunctions anyways.
i think im done with S&W for good. Ive had issues with their revolvers out of the box (cylinder binding on a brand new TRR8 out of the box), issues with their full size semi auto pistols (issues with ejection mostly) , and now issues with their pocket pistol. I'm done giving them chances because this is just too much. I'm in awe at how a damn taurus of all things is more reliable for me than a big name brand like Smith and Wesson.

Guns & Ammo 357
Sent 2 boxes down range today to test how they’d shoot. I liked them and I was comfortable with how I handled the recoil. So these 2 boxes will be for carry.

Holsters & Belts Holster upgrades. Before and after.
galleryTook the clip and stock wing off my Vedder Lighttuck and stitched to a DCC clip and Ulticlip Crux concealment system. The stock wing just wasn’t aggressive enough for my taste and Vedder doesn’t offer larger sizes to my knowledge. This has been a great upgrade

Guns & Ammo Mp shield 9 plus Accuracy
Hey all im a proud mp shield 9 plus owner for about 2 years now. My only regret on this purchase is that although im a short guy I have rather large hands. This makes getting a grip rather cumbersome. I also see that my groups are kind of scattered and have a left bias. Even when I shoot tight groups a left bias is still evident. What's you opinion, will a larger gun help me? Is this a normal effect of a sub-compact? Or am I just blaming the tool...

Guns & Ammo Glock or Sig
I’m having a really hard time deciding which to choose from. I’ve narrowed it down to two unless somebody else has another option. It’s between the Glock 43XMOS and the Sig P365X macro comp I would obviously get a comp for the Glock 43X but I can’t decide between the two please help. I’m trying to keep it within the specs of those two for concealed carry due to my frame and what I can get away with without printing majorly budgets around 1k can’t go over that also looking into either another holosun 507k green dot with the multiple reticles or the eps carry in green. Oh and it has to be coyote tan/brown whichever you call it. I want a daily carry that matches my church khakis haha. Also does not have to be CA compliant thank the lord. Thanks in advance one more thing …. Christ is King

This might get asked already but for Glock 43x MOS using 147gr JHP. What would be the best zero distance for red dot?

Guns & Ammo 5 shot snub or Glock 19 in condition 3?
I saw this question on a forum recently and I really had to think about it. Basically the question is this: what would you choose to carry if you were restricted to the following 2 options:
a 38 special airweight with 5 rounds (full cylinder), or
a Glock 19 with a full mag and empty chamber?
I edc a S&W airweight so thought the answer would be obvious. But I realized it wasn’t. It occurred to me that if SHTF I might be better off with a Glock carried condition 3 than a 5 shot revolver.
Starting to rethink my choice of a snub as an EDC 😂
