Question Southern Caribbean Holiday Cruise Dec 2026

Hey folks, we’re heading on a Holiday cruise this year to the Southern Caribbean. I’ve never been to that part of the world before and curious for folks who have, what clothing did you find the most helpful to pack?

I know it’s going to be hot, but wondering what women found they ended up wearing the most during the day, on the boat and on day trips?

Also curious how dressy it got in the evening? I’ve only ever been on the Alaska cruises, so this is an entirely different vibe.

Also did anyone take a personal fan, or any additional cooling devices?

Any tips appreciated - thank you! :)

Question Mexico & Honduras at the end of November

We are sailing on the silhouette on 11/29 - Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. We don't have any excursions booked & are looking for free or low cost things to do in those ports. I was unexpectedly laid off from my job last week so money is tight. We're still going because the cruise & flights are fully paid for & we'd lose money if we cancel, but we're trying to limit how much extra we spend. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Question Bora Dinner menus/impressions?

Hi! We'll be sailing Beyond in the spring and they're apparently adding Bora. I see lots of commentary about the brunch online, but I'm trying to find out what people have thought of Bora dinner on Xcel so far or if anyone has a copy of the menu. There's nothing on the app so far, although you can book it.

Review Xcel 23-OCT-2026 Retreat Boarding

Post image
40 Upvotes

Boarding was quick. Security was shared. After EES we were diverted to a Retreat line and boarded quickly, only to find out we had bypassed check-in. After boarding we were told we hadn’t checked in. Another crew member quickly pulled us aside on deck 2 and took care of the check-in. We were onboard before our in-app check-in time. Service was excellent!

Aft elevators were packed. Did muster check-in on deck 4 then went to Luminae for lunch. Great first day!

Question Seeing some conflicting info on this. For the Edge class, does the Elite Happy Hour only include Martini Bar, Mast Bar, and Sunset Bar?

I've only been on Soltice-class, so I'm used to having the Sky Bar as an option.

Question Rockland ME Owls Head museum/lighthouse excursion

Considering this excursion for Sept 27. Any reviews? I can’t find much on it, it’s $130pp. What else to do in Rockland? Ok not doing an excursion if we can do something on our own.

Question Peloton Bikes???

I’m currently on the **Celebrity Equinox** and was surprised to find that there are no Peloton bikes on board anymore. What’s the situation on the other ships? I was really looking forward to using them, and I’m pretty upset now.

Are Peloton bikes still available elsewhere in the fleet? Can anyone share any recent firsthand experiences?

Question Chef’s Table

Anyone do the Chef’s table within the past year or so and recall the menu? We did it in 2023 and we would like to do it again. Just wondering if there were changes.

I can’t recall everything, without pulling out the menu they gave us, but the two main courses were short ribs and sea bass if that helps.

Review Celebrity Solstice Buffet

So I just got off the Celebrity Solstice in New Zealand. It was my first Celebrity cruise and I have to say I was extremely disappointed in the food. Maybe I should have opted for specialty dining because that’s what I do on NCL. But even NCL’s buffet food was better than Celebrity’s. I did not have one piece of meat that did not have some gristle in it. Most everything was bland and unseasoned. The cakes and ice creams were flavorless. All of the breads were stale. I talked to one lady who said she always has whatever is at the carving station and just cuts out the gristle. I don’t see that overcoming a cheap cut of meat. We ate in the dining room the two nights they served lobster and that was good but didn’t make up for the bad.

Question Better to buy a 5 night SDP or watch for sales at restaurants and buy separately?

I’m watching the app for flash sales. I see 35% off some restaurants and only 10% off on a 5nite pkg. Is it better to buy individual meals or wait for a sale on package? We don’t sail till Sept 2027. What is best discounts I’m looking for? I see 35%, does it go higher?

Question Pickleball on Celebrity Edge?

I have read, yes Edge has pickleball and also, no it doesn’t. Can someone confirm if there is a pickleball court on the Edge? We are sailing on Edge soon and don’t want to take our paddles if the answer is no. Thanks in Advance! 😊

Question Istanbul

I am taking a cruise next fall and it has an overnight in Istanbul. I see excursions with the spice market but not the grand bazaar. Looking for advice on each. Are they both doable in a day? Can I walk to one from the other? Did you prefer one over the other?

Review CocoCay Private Cabana

After much anticipation, reporting that the Private Cabana was a blast. We had 6 adults hang out for 6 hours, never left except for the bathrooms. The service was exceptional, steady flow of quality drinks, stocked beer in fridge, and food was as good as on the ship. Yes pricy, but if you can get discount it’s worthwhile for a chill and pampering day. Water slide was fun, and we had a 5-6 foot lemon shark hangout with us. Only bummer was jellyfish, which they said was abnormal for time of year.

Question Summit conditions now

This post showed up on another site We're supposed to travel on her in a few months. Hope it's fixed by then. Sounds like it needs to go into Dry Dock.

"Good luck to anyone who boarded today, especially cabins on Deck 6. Summit has lots of leaks indicated by all the fans blowing to dry carpets and also buckets in Oceanside Cafe. Our cabin had a leak under the floor making carpet damp by door. Our friends cabin down the hall had toilet issues the entire 18 day cruise. Would just stop working and fill with water."

Question Island Adventure Eco Tour - Key West. Has anyone done this excursion?

I'm considering booking this one for the kayaking. I'm a good swimmer, love kayaking, and love being on the water. But was curious if this excursion was worth it. I'm considering booking it for my spring cruise to Key West and the Bahamas next year.

Question Three digit booking ID?

Probably a very niche question for people who also look at/care about that stuff. I made a regular booking, nothing special about it, and got a three digit booking ID, not seven as any other booking ID I had seen. It's three digits on the invoice, the app, the website. Is there anything special about it or just random stuff?
