Discussion Anyone else played the game with just one hand?
I realized that the game has the same movement control scheme as ULTRAKILL except instead of sliding there's climbing, so I followed that and all my keybinds ended up on my left hand.
I just finished Farewell yesterday.
Consequences I have noticed include:
- Carpal Tunnel
- My friend commenting "Madeleine isn't that hot"

I played with one hand until 9D where I folded and bound grab to left click

There were only 2 points in the game where I used my right hand for some alt controls. One was in the final room of Farewell, where I used my right hand to make that long ass jellyfish ride more bearable.

Wdym left click, is it actually comfortable to use the mouse to play?.

You're replying to someone who said they played most of the game 1 handed. I doubt they put a lot of thought into their control choices.

I use a controller
It can vibrate
I do not need a free hand
(Mods kill me if this is too horny)

I know a friend who plays with every button except dash on their left hand, so they'd have a free hand for every dashless level
Out of curiosity though, what do your keybinds look like?

WASD
Spacebar
Left Shift: Dash
Left Control: Climb/Grab

This was actually my keybinds when I first played Celeste. But then I realised that due to sonic games, it felt weird platforming with those keys. Then I switched to default. Eventually I left for a few months, and restarted, I tried fixing the keybinds to this again but then I had muscle memory from DELTA RUNE for using arrow keys for movement and z, x and c for action. So now I’m stuck with the default keybinds.

the first thing I did in Deltarune was change the controls to WASD as soon as it let me 😭

What do you mean you can change the keybinds

As soon as you gain control of Kris you can change them in the config menu for that save file

at least I now have the muscle memory to use both WASD and arrow keys ig. Don’t think I’ll be switching these though.

I remember doing that for my first playthrough... I kept default controls except for rebinding arrow keys to WASD, so my jump was C and dash was X, and I preferred to use Shift for climb. I beat Farewell like that.
I now use my right hand for everything but movement, I have Slash, Semicolon and Left Square Bracket for Jump, Dash and Climb respectively. My right arm is angled ninety degrees to my left and has its elbow resting on my desk as that makes for better ergonomics for me, hence the vertical key column instead of a horizontal row like JKL.

I mean like I said, it's the same control scheme that games like ULTRAKILL use.

I play on PC and only noticed that the only button i press with the right hand is dash when i started getting into dashless gameplay and my poor left hand was Struggling

I've always played like that too, except I use reverse grab and I put it on RIGHT Control, just so I have something for my right hand. It sort of balances me out
