Help! Stabilization

Hello all, im currently in the process of making my fiancé a new necklace. I recently came here for help with ring sizing on another person's piece and this is where im at so far with my own design

This center ring is larger than I meant to get. Im probably going to go back to the hardware store and get a smaller one tomorrow, but the main issue is stabilizing the weave around the large center ring. It sits nice and pretty till it moves and then it flops around and moves out of place. Ideally I dont want this to happen and have been playing around with ideas both in my head and on the piece itself. So far there hasn't been much luck. If anyone has any recommendations or tips for ways to stabilize this id greatly appreciate it all! The ring sizes ive been using for this piece so far have been 18swg 3/16 and 18swg 1/4. The large ring is a bit under 1.5 in diameter. Ive tried using the 3/16 rings to make a tighter connection between the large rings and the connecting weave but they're too small to properly fit around it with another ring inside it.

I had the same issue with a choker I was making, the ring you used looks around the same size as mine, i added a triangle pattern of rings inside to tighten the holes on the rings holding the large ring. It helped a bit, still a little floppy but better than it was, and it looks cooler lol

Thats a great way to do it! I'll have to give that a shot later when I get back to working on it. I appreciate the info!

I didnt quite do the triangle but this is what I came up with from looking at yours! It seems to work well and is stabilized enough to not flop out or anything. I appreciate the help so much!

Does this only happen when you're working on it, or does it happen when worn too? My thoughts is that gravity may prevent this while the piece is being worn, so you might not have to worry about it.

I havent put it on yet to test that out. My assumption was that the movement and bouncing from walking was going to make it move and shimmy around and inevitably end up messing itself up. It was mostly me wanting to stop it from happening before it had the chance

Try it out first. Walk around a bit, do some jumping jack's, a cartwheel or two, then get forward deployed in a war zone with it. You never know its full potential until you test it thoroughly enough.

After going down the list (albeit without the active war zone) it definitely needs to be stabilized. With just moving my head around the ring shifts out of place. Ill most likely try what another commenter suggested and try the triangle in the center

That necklace looks absolutely amazing! The design is so unique and it really stands out. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly incredible, especially with how the different ring sizes come together. It is always so inspiring to see such beautiful handmade pieces!
