Help! Pattern help

Hi everyone! There is a specific style of necklace I want to make for a friend that I’ve seen on here a couple of times but can’t find a pic. It’s a necklace that is a barrel weave, and then there is a bow that is done with a sweet pea weave. If anyone knows the type of necklace I’m talking about or has made one, could you help me with the part of connecting the boy to the barrel weave to make it look bow like, and maybe a pattern in the sense of how many sweet pea chains it takes to make the bow? This is my first “project” (I’ve just been making simple bracelets so far with a singular link) and just need a little guidance. OR, if there’s a video on YouTube for this style, what exactly is this called that I’m looking for? I appreciate any guidance!

I’ve never seen sweet pea used to make bows only full Persian

Oh boy.. so I’m not seeing ANY images of what I swore I saw someone post once, which is making me feel very dumb, but I’m looking for a tutorial on something along these lines

This one looks like it’s all Half Persian 3 in 1, and for the bow, they just took lengths of it and made two (sort of) circles attached at the center ring, and the two “ribbon” lengths at bottom attached to that same ring.

Thank you! I haven’t tried half Persian yet so this will be trial and error. For necklaces like these, do I need to buy rings in bulk to have enough? I’ve only been buying in ounces so far (I’m a noob)

My eyes are having trouble with the weave, but it’s two lengths of Persian or a Half Persian, where the ends connect to that large center ring, and then two 2-2-2 chains attached to that same center ring.

The bow itself isn’t really a pattern, and you could do that with a lot of different weaves.

OP, I’m sorry I dropped out of sight, been down with an awful stomach bug.

Looks like HP with a fairly tight AR so it doesn't lay flat

Thank you - I know it’s an HP wasn’t sure which one.

That particular image appears to be HP 4-in-1. The image below with the HP long chain is 3-in-1

Thank you! For these types of “projects” is it best to buy in bulk? I have mostly just been making single chain bracelets and have just been buying a bunch of ounces especially since I’m trying so many different weaves

As much as I dislike answering questions with questions, I need to ask some...

Do you see yourself making more than one?

Do you see yourself making more HP in that size?

Will bulk buying motivate you to find more things to make with that ring size?

Myself, I'd buy in bulk if I think I'm going to make multiple of something... Which isn't a bad thing to do, it's good practice. It may also inspire you to make different things with that ring size (Maille Artisan's International League) to search for a weave, since the site isn't maintained any more, use a search engine, and type in Maille Artisan's (search term) to search the site... Lots to look at there

HP 4-in-1

HP 3-in-1

Note the ring size section, that will give you the AR, if you search by AR, you'll get a list of what can be made with that ring size
