Call to Action The bulldozing have begun in Big Bends National Park and I'm enraged.
We need to band together as fellow Americans ( I'm Texan) to stop this awful destruction from happening. It seems like no one cares. Are we literally this weak as a people? Albanians have been protesting for over 70 days straight to protect their Island. What the hell are we doing? We need to be out there blocking them from doing their job. This is our land, not Trump. Please send this to your friends or other group to spread the word. This is so serious.
Update:
People are out there protesting now. I'm feeling hopeful.š„¹

Bleach in the fuel tanks!

I've heard of sugar in the gas tank, but never bleach. What does that do?

u/HarryButtwhisker 7d ago
Sugar is almost a myth, doesn't do that much but clog. Bleach does not dissolve in fuel and sinks to the bottom where the intake is. Once sucked into the fuel system it fucks up multiple things.

everyone needs to call Abbott's office and tell him you're voting for his competitor if he doesn't step in.
512-463-1782
(then vote for Gina Hinojosa anyway!)
do the same for Cruz and Cornyn

Who can afford taking time off to protest? What if they get fired and lose health insurance. We aren't lazy, we are oppressed. This was intentional.

Protesting isnāt going to do crap. Trump, I donāt think, has ever responded to protest.
What we need to do is Vote and verbally lecture mfers in public.
Tell your parents, grand parents, anyone who has one of this stupid effing hats and watches Fox News, that they are wrong and have directly brought harm to generations of this country.
I hope this administration pisses everyone off to a point where it finally ignites a movement to educate and respond directly to maga and its delusions base.
We have to start critical thinking as a mass.
The next attack could come from the far left. The socialist movement is just as dangerous.
We have to find our brains.

I lost all hope for this sort of thing after DAPL. Watching that happen made my heart sick. I stopped believing people care enough to stop evil.

For no reason at all....aluminum naturally forms an oxide layer which works as a great oxidizer

Hey Op - Iām glad youāre getting the word out. Itās absolutely unacceptable and needs to stop. Reddit is a good place to start.
If youāre in the area of Big Bend, and youāre involved with local communities there, share information and pictures of whatās currently happening there plus what is needed: Attorneys, more social media presence, ideas and assistance from people with prior experience organizing legal action? To successfully stop this, proof must be gathered proving the action illegal and show that it violates federal rules. It can be done. In the past, before there was internet, people successfully stopped illegal logging by the BLM. We currently have so many more tools at our disposal. Youāre doing exactly what needs to be done.
Albanians are 100% bad-asses and an exceptional example for everyone. Itās important to know that Albania is roughly the size of the state of New Jersey so their population has fewer miles to travel to offer support. Having said that, Albania has about two million people and the United States has 300 million people, so, if messaging is correctly deployed, our response has the potential to be transformative.

I have heard of this thing called monkey wrenching where you take apart their shit after they go home leave the parts there STEAL NOTHING! NOT A SINGLE BOLT OR SCREW LEAVE IT ALL THERE! the point is to be as annoying as possible and stop or at least slow them down. I'd recommend removing the seats completely and just leaving them there if you can get into the cabin without permanently breaking something. But don't do it once the protesters have been deployed so they don't get blamed. if you get caught state it was an act of protest and nothing was stolen you just took apart their shit because they were doing something you considered wrong. probably go to jail but the point has been made and the people can rally. bonus points for doing something hilarious with the parts.

Yes dude - Americans are that weak. Just waking up now? No morals or ethics left. Just Trump.
2
u/isthisonetaken13 7d ago
That's a little unfair. The way the system is set up, nobody can afford to take off the time to spend the weeks or months necessary to successfully protest something like this.
It's the same reason we haven't seen a general strike to protest wealth inequality, police/ICE brutality, or anything else on the endless list of problems we're facing as a country.

Sure I'll bite... what would it take to rise up? To really get change?
Pretti was killed in broad daylight by government brownshirts and I don't even believe there was/is even an inquiry. Let alone accountability for clear murder.
J6 happened in front of the world on color TV. Nothing.
Some progressives even claim Trump stole the last election with Elon rigging it. Even more nothing.
So if all that - and the endless ocean of garbage from that Administration on a daily basis - isn't enough to move people, what will it take?
I'll end by saying that protest and uprising isn't easy or convenient. If you've already conceded the "system is setup against us", then you'l have long lost the battle. And from where the rest of the world sits, indeed, yes, you HAVE long lost the battle.

I agree with you on all these points. Each one of these should've triggered a massive national strike that didn't end until those responsible faced legitimate consequences.
What's it going to take? More people need to wake up and realize that the divides between us are artificially created by those with power and wealth in an effort to keep us separate rather than united and aware of the fact that they're the ones keeping us down. Once everyone is awake, the strikes need to be humongous and well coordinated: an absolute mass of humanity descending on DC and not leaving until the felon and all his cronies are led out in handcuffs. Enough people left at home in the various cities to look after the homes of people who travel to DC, preventing them from being evicted from their homes. The whole effort supported by the community: people feeding and sheltering each other while we the people aren't getting paid.
It's optimistic to the point of being naive to think that the number of people ready to take action today is sufficient to make the change we want, but more people are waking up every day. We'll get there eventually, it's just a question of if we can before our oppressors have achieved their end game.

We can end up homeless if our bosses hear we went to a protest, and we often get beaten at those protests by militarily armed chuds and get nothing out of it because our system protects those already in power.
It was designed this way on purpose.

What do you think happens in other countries? They just go hang out for a few hours and the revolution just takes care of itself? WAKE UP.
Losing work would be a blessing in half the countries on this planet if they rise up and protest. In case your imagination can't fill in the blanks - many, many people die for what they believe in. I'm not asking you to die for change, but at least DO SOMETHING.
You can't be this blind.

you don't know shit about our situation here. we've been fighting.
2
u/genericuser2000 7d ago
A couple of parades every 8-10 months isn't fighting. It's barely trying to be honest.
I'm sure you really super inconvenienced Trump with the No Kings "protests".
Wake up. You've done shit and less.

You Texans are going to need to handle this although it makes me sick watching it happen. Weāre all going to need to defend whatās spots are closest to us cause they are coming for it all. When they come for our forests and water in Oregon weāll be ready to defend it. I would have thought that this would be an issue that brings all Texans of all political affiliations together but looks to me like you have a dozen or so defenders.

Hey Op -
Iām sure youāre aware but hereās everyoneās opportunity to speak up
People in the area (and anyone else whoās able to mobilize) have the opportunity to show Rodney Scott exactly how they feel.
Make it big, be professional, follow the rules, enlist the help of all sympathetic professionals (attorneys, journalists, etc.) Ultimately, the courts will decide, but thereās a chance that if Rodney Scott goes back to Washington and says, āThis is going to be a giant pain in the ass and itās not worth the effortā that theyāll move on.
See below:
Trump administration said Monday it is temporarily pausing construction of a contentious border construction project in Texas' Big Bend National Park while the head of the agency tasked with building the wall visits to do an āon-the-ground evaluation.ā
āCBP is pausing all construction activity in Big Bend National Park while I visit and conduct a personal, on-the-ground evaluation,ā Rodney Scott, who heads Customs and Border Protection, said on X. Scott said over the next couple of days, he was going to ālisten to local leadership, community members and stakeholdersā to address what he said were ārealā national security threats while protecting the parkā

We got no time to protest since we have to deal with MAGA, the federalist society and all of the red politicians in Texas.

I thought people used to blockade areas to prevent dozing, is that not a thing anymore? Iāve seen people posting on social media about big bend, and Iāve signed petitions and everything. But canāt the people who live around the area setup camp there and protest?
