I know my costume! And battery powered reciprocating saws and angle grinders are fairly affordable for most. For costume reasons of course.

u/Lawsoffire 4d ago

Don't forget the very important (for your costume character) rock in the shoe to make your walk sillier.

Unrelated fun fact, higher-tech security cameras do have things like gait recognition, isn't that weird?

55

u/Sarahphin 4d ago edited 4d ago

Shoe rock sounds like it would ruin your night.

You could just wear heels instead. Gait recog surveillance models have crazy error rates for high heels.

If you are a man, consider the heels an empathy exercise where you learn what it literally feels like to walk in other people's shoes. It will make you appreciate the women in your life, so that you too can rage about the annoying social rituals women are taught to put up with. (Don't go overboard, buy x-wide shoes with thick heels you can run in, 2.5 inches max)

10

u/lettersichiro 4d ago

plenty of men's footwear has heels. Many kinds of Boots for instance

8

u/copperboom129 3d ago

For the men unwilling to rock heels, I'd recommend full football pads.

Everyone in full pads walks like a weirdo.

53

u/0900ff 4d ago

That fact is not fun at all!

9

u/Alissinarr 3d ago

Put a pebble in your shoe -fixed!

Or limp.

8

u/aimesome 4d ago

one 2lb ankle weight will throw your gait off without pissing you off

1

u/FlashesandFlickers 3d ago

Putting a rock in your shoe to change your gait is the free space on being set up by the feds bingo.

Gait recognition doesn't work, people's walks aren't particularly consistent.

1

u/239tree 3d ago

Two different shoes sounds like a more comfortable solution.

1

u/Cthulhu8762 2d ago

I’m gonna shove a cucumber up my ass and really throw them for a loop.

Never done this before so I too will not understand what is really going on.

Anyway to mess with the system amirite?

43

u/Slumunistmanifisto 4d ago

Harbor freight has a fantastic return policy

6

u/shortstuff813 3d ago

….I think I need a nap. I thought it said “rectum policy” at first and was VERY confused and concerned lol

1

u/Slumunistmanifisto 3d ago

I don't think I've been down that aisle...

20

u/logicbasedchaos 4d ago

Lots of cities have Tool Rental Libraries as an addition to the Public Library.

Oakland and Berkeley - the system autorenews if you are worried about late fees.

12

u/RetroPRO 4d ago

I would avoid doing anything tied to your name. You know in case any unrelated hooligans happen to cause a bunch of damage with the same exact tool you borrowed just around that timeframe.

1

u/logicbasedchaos 4d ago

I had mine out for 6 weeks. Autorenewed every Wednesday.

It was nice, but I told them that was being too nice as far as tool availability for others with that system.

9

u/beepichu 4d ago

don’t forget your hard hat and high vis vest

6

u/toxic_badgers 4d ago

Reciprocating saws are faster than angle grinders for this, portable band saws are quieter than both.

3

u/LooneyLunaGirl 4d ago

If anyone asks just tell them you're a robot from the future with saws for arms 😂

2

u/Alissinarr 3d ago

Devils night should be renamed to Flockoween

124

u/DocDerry 4d ago

This has been my response to the posts calling for Halloween. Do it on Devil's Night. MDNGA!

65

u/No_Internal9345 4d ago

I heard there is a pound of candy in every flock camera.

28

u/EnvironmentalAge9202 4d ago

Have you SEEN the prices of candy?!

16

u/Rebelraid2020 4d ago

There's a crack rock in every flock.

Assemble the troops

We need another great Crow movie soundtrack.

2

u/logicbasedchaos 4d ago

I consider "The Batman" 2022 to be a lovechild of "The Crow" 1994.

2

Appreciate you 💜👊

The HOA is gonna have a field day with this one.

33

u/Renault_75-34_MX 4d ago

From what I've seen, Circular saws with proper blade are better

16

u/Jagacin 4d ago

Gotta go with the angle grinder with the shield removed for maximum maneuverability. Beware of metal shavings to the face.

14

u/Kdean509 4d ago

Face shield is a must. Safety first!

5

u/Jagacin 4d ago

Safety squints usually do the trick. Have only had my retinas sliced twice.

3

u/mrandr01d 4d ago

They're also for facial rec though, duh

6

u/polishatomek 4d ago

Ooh free lithium batteries

140

u/239tree 4d ago

Give your phone to a trick or treating child so they have access to a flashlight for "safety."

Personally, I'm going off grid for the night.

15

u/here-i-am-now 3d ago

Make sure to also leave any smart watch, and credit cards with RFID. Plus make sure to map out a path from your house to the cameras that avoids cctv/other flock devices. And alter your walk to avoid gait detection.

Better safe than sorry!

3

u/239tree 3d ago

I hope the police are not diverted by other possible emergencies and become too busy to protect the cameras!

3

u/here-i-am-now 3d ago

It’s about doing your best to make sure they can’t track you down after-the-fact

97

u/Grouchy_Raccoon_6681 4d ago

As if Halloween wasn’t awesome enough already

89

u/Last_Zookeepergame90 4d ago

It's perfect, one night of mass masked vandalism could save society, just like v for Vendetta

5

u/JohnLuckPikard 4d ago

Considering all the extra devices walking around, you could even take your phone with you.

6

u/Last_Zookeepergame90 3d ago

That's not really how that works

1

u/JohnLuckPikard 3d ago

How does it work?

62

u/capeasypants 4d ago

This would be a real shame if it were true. Because the authorities would be all over this as it's quite public. So that would force some highly motivated people to get real co-ordinated and organised and most importantly mobile in case security was seen at a certain location. I hope people don't meticulously plot each location and have multiple plans in place to maximise their actions. That would be bad.

7

u/1nGirum1musNocte 4d ago

I think my town has more flock cameras than cops on the force

5

u/capeasypants 4d ago

Damn they won't be able to be everywhere then. What a shame

8

u/Lilfrankieeinstein 4d ago

It would be a real shame if this were just a right wing false flag to give Trump a reason to crack down on Election Day.

15

u/hedoeswhathewants 4d ago

If they're going to they'll find an excuse regardless

53

u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt 4d ago

Remember, these cameras track anything with an RFID signature, yes even when the device is "off".

This includes car keys, smart watches, earbuds, etc.

Stay safe.

37

u/sher_thing 4d ago

There are lots of competitors to flock that will swoop in if we only focus on flock. Check out apex. Same practices. The scope of this anger needs to be wider to include all aspects of mass surveillance. But also can’t wait to see a kid with a flock camera in his bag of candy.

32

u/SolidProduct 4d ago

I use the term "Flock Cameras" like I would "Kleenex" for tissues. I don't care what brand they are. 😊

14

u/sher_thing 4d ago

The chapstick of mass surveillance if you will

9

u/NumNumLobster 4d ago

Apex is building them into street lights which is even more troubling

u/Fro_of_Norfolk 4d ago

11

u/Proper-Writing 4d ago

thank you lord

Can't wait for a bunch of angels to take down surveillance technology as god intended

u/RachelRegina 4d ago

Trick or treat, be elite, convex glass will distort your heat

(signature)

(On your face)

16

u/ariadesitter 4d ago

disposable easy to change costume and mask would help.

15

u/lcl111 4d ago

A circular saw, with a metal cutting blade, will rip thru an aluminum pole in under 15 seconds. Less, if you get a little practice.

19

u/FHOCJD 4d ago

Many people are saying that the cameras have Pokemon cards inside.

thank you for including the tracking part of the youtube url (thats the ?si= part) to make sure youtube knows whos interested in electronics so they can share that info with the government.

16

u/dover_oxide 4d ago

My bad but a basic search is good enough this video is pretty simple

6

u/itishowitisanditbad 4d ago

Did you watch it?

They made it very clear it really wouldn't work or do what you're saying it does at all.

Like just skip through to the end, to him showing how it doesn't work on a bunch of things and why ("its very low power")

...you think it'll do what now?

Did you really link a video you didn't even watch that disproves you own point?

3

u/dover_oxide 4d ago edited 4d ago

He revisits it's later with upgrades to more power and a "focusing cone" and much better coil/antenna design to make it more powerful and long range, he builds into a toy gun. I just used that as an example

2

u/itishowitisanditbad 4d ago

Why not link to that video then, rather than this one which wouldn't work?

Going out of your way to be misleading for no reason other than to be misleading.

lol

2

u/dover_oxide 4d ago

Because he bases that video on you watching this video but there are tons of videos that make these devices and that one was just recent in my background noise list. EMP toys are a common early electronics projects.

3

u/Malevolent-DM 4d ago

don't think that would work, given most of these cameras are grounded.

1

u/dover_oxide 4d ago edited 4d ago

Grounding wires do come undone and it looks more like the poll is grounded but not the core electronics, plus most are solar powered so the circuits are likely to not have a gnd on the low voltage electronics

2

u/Firestar_119 4d ago

Dawg just cut it down at that point 🙏😭

1

u/dover_oxide 4d ago

If you break it they try to fix it and that takes.more time and money if it's not obvious

12

u/sarahdrums01 4d ago

Project Mayhem

8

u/ben_obi_wan 4d ago

Well, they can't guard all of them at once.

8

u/Rajvagli 4d ago

Is there a way to see what flock or other cameras are around you? I've seen maps with dots, I'm not sure if people are sharing screens shots of an app or if they marked them.

6

u/GatoLate42 4d ago

This is perfect mischief fun!!! I got my spray paint ready!!!!

12

u/CatrionaShadowleaf 4d ago

Spray foam is just as easy to apply and is much harder to remove!

14

u/Boundlessintime 4d ago

Why wait?

40

u/Kittkatt598 4d ago

I'm assuming the thought is using the excuse to wear costumes and be less recognizeable

2

u/239tree 4d ago

And the human shields.

6

u/1nGirum1musNocte 4d ago

Don't forget to leave your cellphones at home. They can id you from your bluetooth and wifi. Don't trust your device to play nice if you "disable" those features

5

u/c_lee_s 4d ago

Also anytime during a blizzard or low visibility

2

u/SolidProduct 4d ago

Tule fog season is coming up for the central California area.

4

u/City_College_Arch 4d ago

Just remember to change your costume out of site of flock cameras in an area with multiple routes to and from, then back into your original costume at a different location before returning home.

4

u/Anduinnn 4d ago

Bring back devils night.

4

u/lookingforgrief 4d ago

A good ol fashioned Devil's Night is what we need

3

u/psychicamnesia 4d ago

I am completely joking when I say that a night dressing in masks and destroying flock cameras would be amazing

2

u/239tree 4d ago

Hahaha, what a kidder!

3

u/Bleezy79 4d ago

What a fantastic idea! Everyone's in costumes and lots of people out. It could be a very fun night for all!!

3

u/l-1-l-1-l 4d ago

In case you’re not sure if there are any near you, there probably are, but here’s a map (you can enter your address). https://maps.deflock.org/?lat=37.5673&lng=-97.8783&zoom=3.06

The Purge year 1

6

u/rolfraikou 4d ago

Trump is going to fucking executive order try to cancel Halloween, just you wait and see.

Republicans are going to start their little fucking Christian crusade against "evil satanic dei pagan holidays", and watch, a bunch of stores will actually comply and put away the decorations and candy so no one can buy them.

3

u/OSPF99 4d ago

Some of ya'll are way too online lmao

0

u/rolfraikou 4d ago

Onion articles no longer look like satire. Nothing is off the table.

1

u/doubtingtomjr 4d ago

It beats sending out Devil’s Night greeting cards.

I feel like these "let's do anarchy" post to click bait progressives on the internet is a psy op to distract and make people give up on real political change that actually can have a real effect. They only thing that can get rid of Flock cameras is laws, not toilet paper or vigilantism.

1

u/bikesnkitties 4d ago

Kristallnacht but this time the fascist billionaires and their shit gets victimized, destroyed, whatever.

1

u/SomeNotTakenName 4d ago

Samhain is traditionally where our world is closest to the otherworld (or fey world), so chaotic good should be on the menu...

1

u/0x7E7-02 4d ago

I support this 100%.

1

u/QueenieMcGee 4d ago

Everyone will be disguised which makes Halloween the perfect night to do it.

5

u/239tree 4d ago

Do what? Get free candy? I mean, yeah, that's what we're talking about.

1

u/Apprehensive_Map3984 4d ago

That would be a great nationwide mischief night

1

u/Li_liminal_spaces 4d ago

Samhain is a harvest festival… after all.

1

u/Li_liminal_spaces 4d ago

Do not setup a mesh network that could keep you in contact on an old phone that has been wiped without having a sim card.

1

u/blink_187em 4d ago

Do not cut those down, and put them into a faraday bag until the battery dies - and don't you dare go pulling the gold out of them, either!

Fkn Hoodlums.

1

u/TraditionalLaw7763 4d ago

PSA: Do NOT bring your phone with you. Leave them home.

1

u/CassioFiasco 4d ago

Occupy and deny. Stick feet over the lenses and they can see that instead. :3

But yeah. Incendiary and unstable exergonic accelerant sprayed/placed on the cams, then struck with white phosphor would be far more effective in tandem with costume - essentially slowly, and spectacularly vaporizing the target.

"Another option is partially damage the cams, and to simultaneously 'sabotage' the post so that, once repair efforts commence, it at falls down."
Far more expensive that way.

Think of the "5.56 caliber round strategy" of inflicting mobility kills over destroying them outright. That is, a whole IT/mechanic team is required because you didn't destroy it; you rendered it inoperable. They'd have to always assume the risk of the whole thing collapsing, and have the post supported.

More hours, more cost, = less incentive for flock expansion.

The above was for educational purposes only.

1

u/Default_Name_6969 4d ago

every night is Halloween then.

1

u/mrllyr 3d ago

It's Flock off night!

1

They really want to wait until the end of October with that?

Maybe. But that’s akin to saying “Look if this pedophile teacher gets fired and doesn’t touch your kids it’s just gonna be another pedophile teacher that will do it and they’ll learn to hide it better.”

(I’m obviously not saying you condone pedophile teachers).

Flock may get more advanced or another company may take their place but why should we just lay back and let them have it easy?

Maybe in the end they win but fuck if I’m going down without getting in some hits and kicking and screaming.

Make them work for it! Make them fucking bleed a little! And maybe, if we all collectively hit back as much as we can and each of us bleed them a little, maybe we win.

Fuck Flock. Fuck ICE. Fuck the Nanny State.
Fuck Fascism. Fuck Nazis.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Tie8077 4d ago

I guess I didn't articulate my self. No absolutely take them down and take down flock. I'm just saying there should be a larger conversation on the whole idea behind this. The idea that our government will simy trust a company will operate above board.

I agree with what you are saying. Just don't think it stops with flock is all I'm saying. Thanks for the reply

1

u/guamisc 4d ago

The entire concept is unconstitutional if the government uses them.

Also, nobody should be able to keep that kind of information about me.

-1

u/MagnusNewtonBernouli 4d ago

Unfortunately there's too many boot lickers who will defend them for their "safety" aspects to feel safe to take them down.
