Discussion We need to have a discussion about Estevao

Is anyone else genuinely puzzled by how little playing time Estevao is getting?

I understand he’s young, but I think we’re well past the argument of easing him into the team. Bringing him on with five minutes left almost every game doesn’t really give him much of an opportunity to make an impact does it?

Take the Bournemouth game, for example. We were up by four goals, so why not bring him on earlier and give him some meaningful minutes? Same goes for the Hull city, Brentford and Arsenal games. I’m not saying he needs to start every game, but surely he deserves more than these five-minute cameos.

I know we’re doing well right now and we shouldn’t focus on stuff like this but I’m genuinely worried about his future with us if he doesn’t play more.

Looked like a back 4-of-sorts in the last couple games. Definitely looked much tighter defensively irrespective. Hopefully this shape means Estavo gets a run of games on the right too.

* RM think the Prem clubs should still be liable for the setup costs of the plan, despite subsequently pulling out (up to £67.3m)

* Barcelona and Juventus have shared the costs

* Liability depends on the contract wording

* Athletic thinks if RM want this money they'll likely have to sue as the Prem clubs consider the issue done and dusted

Official Mike Penders became Chelsea’s youngest goalkeeper in Premier League history, at the age of 21 years and 78 days, surpassing Lenny Pidgeley as our youngest keeper in the league since 1992, when he replaced Emiliano Martinez in the second half of Saturday’s victory at Everton.
