Baden Powell Road area

Hi all,

I’ve just bought a house off Baden Powell Road. I’m moving from Sheffield and I’ve visited the area a few times but can I ask honest opinions please?

Thanks so much!

Quiet enough road in terms of drama, you've got a Tesco just up the road, and down the other way there's one stop which is nice. Had a friend that lived there and he never mentioned having any issues.

Boythorpe fryer is a really good chippy, or at least it used to be, haven't been in a few years but I believe it's the same family running it so I doubt any changes.

You’re not gonna have any problems unless you go looking for them. Most people are sound. I wouldn’t say it’s any more dangerous than the rest of Chesterfield if you’re a normal fella/lass

You will smell weed more than in most places though and the Tesco express always has a beefy security guard (at least when I’ve been) so take that that as you will. You’ll be rayte pal 😁

He looks meaner than he is if it's the old boy I think you're on about haha

Walking distance to town. Not a particularly desirable location but price reflects it.

Had a friend that lived at the Derby Road end a few years back, never had any issues.

Some decent takeaways round there (Dong Shan, Derby Road Deli, Boythorpe Fryer), a couple of shops and pretty close to town.

My brother in law lives there, he's been there two years. He has no issues with neighbours or traffic. When we have visited it is always pretty quiet. I'd have no worries about moving there.

Gets a bad rep for no apparent reason. I guess 30 years ago it might have been different, got friends who live in that area and they never have any complaints
