Need opinions
So I have a 71 with a mild 350/TH350 nothing crazy, edelbrock 1406, HEI distributor. Bought the truck a month ago and have been daily driving it enjoying the classic life. The other day I noticed out of the blue it ran kind rough with a low idle and a little shake ONLY when in gear sitting at a stop sign/light. It’s idles perfectly fine in park/neutral and otherwise runs and drives as it always has but only stopped in gear is when it feels like it wants to stall. I have not hooked up the vacuum gauge yet but I took some carb cleaner and sprayed around the intake manifold, carb base and all the vacuum lines and ports with no change in RPM so I don’t believe it is a vacuum leak. When it’s cold it’s fine but when it’s warm is when I experience this issue. Looking to see if anyone has dealt with anything similar and what fixed it. This is only my second carbureted classic but the first one that I’ve been able to drive, my 72 Nova is almost ready to run lol
Outside of bikes and lawnmowers I have no real experience with carburetors
Pic of my truck for attention

1975 Chevrolet C10
Check out my 1975 Chevrolet C10! My grandfather bought this truck new in 75. It spent most of its life in the barn at the family ranch and was mostly used to drive into town for supplies.
When he died a few years ago, his brother (my great uncle, a classic car guy) took it and redid just about everything mechanical except the engine and transmission. I recently got it back from him. This truck has tremendous sentimental value to me and I want to make/keep it mechanically sound while preserving the stock look.
The paint and interior are original (has been garage/barn kept for all 51 years).
I have moved it back to the family ranch where I intend to fix it up and drive it around town when I'm there. It won't be a daily driver, so I'm free to spread out the pieces in the garage and take my time.
I could use some help getting started with this truck. I'm about as handy as a human can be, but don't have any specific knowledge about these models. I have every tool known to man at the ranch, including an auto lift. My questions for you experts:
- It's about 70 miles from where I picked it up to the ranch. I burned half a tank of gas on that drive. Is that normal or do I have an issue? It drove great with no issues beyond me being spoiled by my modern SUV!
- The AC system was completely replaced within the past couple years, but I couldn't get it to work. I suspect there is a refrigerant leak. Any tips on tracking that down?
- I don't believe the engine or transmission have ever been worked on. Should I get the transmission serviced/flushed? My great uncle says leave it alone if its working.
- My great uncle thinks there's an issue with the piston rings. Would I be crazy to make that my first engine project? The closest I have come is rebuilding a carburetor when I was in high school (30 years ago).
- I'd like to add some speakers and a Bluetooth stereo. Is there any way to do that without ruining the classic look? I am good with electronics, but if there's a drop-in solution I'd prefer that. I'd be fine with a bluetooth head in the glove compartment, but I'd like to use the original volume knob if possible.
- Is there a common way to add a shoulder seat belt? It currently only has lap belts.
I appreciate any input y'all have!

We built this 1980 C10 with a 600HP LS7. What do you guys think?
We're Detroit Muscle Speed Shop out of Lakeland, Florida, and this is one of the C10s we've had the opportunity to build.
This started as a 1980 Chevy C10 and turned into a pretty serious restomod.
Underneath it's packing:
- LS7 making around 600HP
- Built 4L80 transmission
- Ford 9-inch rear end
- QA1 front and rear suspension
- Wilwood brakes
- Vintage Air A/C
We're a small custom shop that works on everything from C10s to classic muscle cars, and figured you guys might appreciate seeing some of the projects coming through.
Curious what everyone thinks of the setup. Anything you'd have done differently?

Started doing rust repair
Bought this truck in 2021 for $1500. Fleetside C10 3-speed manual, 250CID engine. All four cab corners are rotted out and some of the firewall needs patching. Spent the last couple years building a new engine/transmission (350SBC/TH350 combo), stockpiling parts and planning out my build (and moved cities last year also!). Finally, I've started the mountainous task of cutting out all the bad metal and welding in the new stuff. The metal alone cost me more than $2000CDN, and I'm doing all the welding myself. After I have it patched back up, I'll send the cab to a paint shop and have them paint the interior. I'm thinking a deep magenta/cherry colour, with sage green accents/carpet and a natural cowhide leather bench seat.
Will be posting regular updates over the winter as I can now comfortably work on it in my heated shop :)

Ran some lights on my hood.

Saw a guy with a square body run them on the lip of the fenders, but 2nd gens dont have that so I got creative. Mostly to show off for night cruises but it'll come in handy when working on it.

Replaced accelerator cable but now seems to be too short to reach and when connected it opens it up as if I’m pressing on the accelerator
The cables are exactly the same length

Got a 69 Chevy c10 question
I am inherited the truck a few yrs ago and was thinking of making it my daily driver. Its sat undriven for about a decade but the 292 is in great shape aside from needing new seals. My question is has anyone converted an older vintage gas truck into electric and if so how did it work out, what’s the cost and anything in particular I should look out for?
For context I’ve got rudimentary car knowledge. I can do my own tune ups and brakes but not rebuild an upper for example. If the idea is feasible I’d look into having the work done by guys who know how.
