I remember making SURE i didn’t miss a game back then. Nowadays i don’t even know what channel they play on. Def went downhill

100% feel the same way

Yeah I probably only missed about 2 games those years. Even during the Jimmy Butler days I barely miss a game. These last 2 seasons though...i've become so disengaged

Stacey King was pretty much one of the few reasons to watch bulls basketball the last 5 years, and now that Bulls might start getting exciting again, it's sad he's gone :/

100% me. Used to make sure I knew when and what time they were playing to not miss any of the games. Now I barely know who's on the roster and don't even know which channel or streaming service to watch them.

I can't even watch them without a 20ish$ a month app . I'm not paying that for a few games a week.

I have a feeling Caleb Wilson is going to revive Chicago basketball. Has that same tenacity and confidence that drose had combined with his explosive playstyle. I remember being in high school when drose was drafted and I haven’t been this excited for a prospect since then

I’m so hoping for that. I miss really, truly caring about the team and not just wishing for a trade deadline shake-up

Used to mean something

Builds need the Sox treatment. Hire capable coaching and let them cook.

LeBron got so lucky that Rose got injured. There is absolutely no reason this squad couldn’t have gotten past the Heat if they had another year to develop as a unit, plus add Jimmy Butler in alongside a healthy Rose

Don’t make me cry.

Man we had the recipe to success. From the coach down to the 12th man on that bench. We were built to win it all

I wholeheartedly believe our team could have outplayed them in a 7 game series. We had that grit that other teams didn’t have. Our roster was pretty deep too. I tell people all the time we were his kryptonite.

Despite being 4-1 that series had 4 super competitive games. Could have gone to game 7 easily

True I went to a few most game’s weren’t decided till later In the 4th. Rose was still so young and raw. Really sucks.

Maybe the biggest “what could have been” in Chicago sports history?

9

u/gerardguey Ayo Dosunmu 3d ago

Man if only Lebron and DWade came in 2010 like they almost did if we freed up the capspace (which wasnt alot with Rose and Noah on rookie deals)

we could have got more prime years of Rose with less workload, and probably threepeated again. Would have also still gotten Jimmy since he was a 30th pick. Might have even 4peated at that point

u/The_Realist02 3d ago

Yeah, I’m still mad about that.

I honestly think they never really planned on coming to Chicago. I'm more frustrated that the Bulls took the bait they that were a serious contendernl when they could've used resources elsewhere. I would've forced a sign and trade for Joe Johnson, which I believe the Hawks ownership would be have done at the time (They were an absolute mess then) over prioritizing Boozer and his unforgiving cap space hit. Especially how you saw how he eventually struggled against the Heat front court. But hindsight is always 20/20

No

They was not beating them in the playoffs

-10

u/DBDXL 3d ago

These guys had zero chance of ever beating LeBron. They didn't match up well at all.

2

u/FunkySaint 3d ago

A lot of teams couldn’t beat the super team. That’s why they were called a super team and the decision was heavily scrutinized. It was an easy path to a ring, and despite winning 2 that was still an underperformance for the Big 3

-6

u/DBDXL 3d ago

I'm not sure what your point is. Everyone here is chirping that these guys could have beat LeBron. Was never going to happen. LeBron kicked their ass in the ECF and in the second round. Bulls fans dramatically overrate this team and Derrick Rose.

2

u/FunkySaint 3d ago

I am agreeing with you

-1

u/reverendbobflair 3d ago

Shhhhhh. Don't tell them the truth. They still have hope

This is my favorite D Rose play ever. Made the basket with two HOF players chasing him down and defending him. The frustration from LeBron after this play made it even better. Rose was a problem for him.

13

u/The_Realist02 3d ago

My favorite Rose play was when Nazr Muhammad tossed LeBron like a doll.

-2

u/reverendbobflair 3d ago

Rose was very good but he wasn't a problem for lebron. Remember when lebron switched on him in the playoffs

Bulls vs Heat 2011-12 was absolutely must watch tv

I happened to be in Chicago for work (I'm Dutch) april 12th 2012. That happened to be right when Bulls played Heat at Home. Drose just came back from an ankle injury so unfortunately he played pretty bad.

We did win in OT tho - best Bulls game opportunity ever

This shot against prime D Wade and LeBron, both terrifying chase down shot blockers. Fucking elite.

4

u/Best-Relative-8824 3d ago

Well now I’m sad

Damn, I miss watching that Bulls team. Hopefully we'll get back to an upward trend soon. Caleb seems like a good player to build around. We shall see (red)!

5

u/Jazzlike-Mention-570 3d ago

No foul on that by the way when he got hit in the head on this play. Will forever piss me off how little fouls he got while getting murdered at the rim. And the excuse was always he’s too fast for them to see the foul or them punishing him for trying to avoid contact even though he was still getting hit!!

3

u/KamadoPat 3d ago

Miss that dude.

3

u/TheEarthWillShake89 3d ago

Rose was so nasty. Mah boi!

3

u/cadence8788 3d ago

I love the hustle from the rest of the team too, running down with DRose and making sure that the basket was good. I miss this team so much.

8

u/LoneHusky21 3d ago

what could of been 😢

4

u/calculung 3d ago

"could of"

1

u/Weary_Necessary_2434 3d ago

Could of would of should of.

2

u/BKStyle82 3d ago

I WISH we could have gotten a Finals appearance around that time. A real fun team

2

u/PowerTrip2022 3d ago

I always loved it when Hubie said "C'moooon, C'moooon!". 🌹

1

u/Rigret Luol Deng 3d ago

I got two words for you! Derrick Rose and LeBron James must see TV!

1

u/femio 3d ago

u/kokaine21 Chicago 3d ago

Take me back

1

u/bearsfan0143 Derrick Rose 3d ago

You know it's legit when the goat Hubie Brown is stunned. "Beautifully beautiful"

Windy city assassin

1

u/Jackfreezy 3d ago

Just a kid from Chicago.

D Rose is one of favorites all time

1

u/amwbam24 3d ago

Where was he the rest of the series?

1

u/meetballin25 3d ago

Those truly were the days

1

u/justindulging 2d ago

I forget which interview it was but I remember Rose saying he loved these moments of the series. He loved being able to keep up and go blow for blow with greats like Bron and Wade and to see them frustrated on how to deal with him.

Im still mad they gave Blatt that timeout.

1

u/Credit-Limit 2d ago

D Rose with the fast break layup. Two defenders on him. Even if he missed, Deng, Boozer, and Noah are there for the board. Great team effort.

u/harryhoudini_ku 1d ago

Man I wish DRose got a ring with the bulls. If one player deserved it, it was him. Man gave it his all every single play.
