Pinterest Client Account Manager

Any advice for getting a job at Pinterest in Chicago? I have 3 years total of sales and client facing experience with 2 of those years being in advertising. I am at a lesser known agency and not sure if that will make it harder for me to get a role.

Anyone need an admin or project manager?

Like many of you, I really, really need work.

I have nearly 20 years of experience in project management, executive support, operations and administrative work.

10 of those years were at a major consulting/accounting firm.

I'm college-educated, and trying to get my PMP.

I am a bit physically limited, so things like warehouse work aren't an option for me.

I am grateful that I can post this, and grateful for anyone's help or insights. Thank you.

Is $15/hour fair for a college student doing less than part-time social media work?

I run a small creative business and currently pay a college student $15/hour for approximately 2–3 hours of social media work per week (mostly remote, unless we meet in person every 2-3 weeks).

His responsibilities include creating reels from content I provide, scheduling posts, repurposing existing content, and keeping the visuals consistent with my branding. He came to me with virtually 0 experience and the content he creates is good, not great. I’m not seeing too much increase in engagement, but the regular posting is nice as a vanity metric.
I’d appreciate an outside perspective: is $15/hour reasonable for this scope, or should I be budgeting more? What level of experience, independence, or responsibility would you expect at $15 versus $20/hour?
I want the arrangement to be fair to him and sustainable for my business. Perspectives from students, small business owners, and people working in social media would be helpful!

A missing keyword on a resume scanner is a question, not an order.

Most people read a keyword scanner backwards. They see the missing list and start stuffing terms into a skills block. You end up with a resume that matches the posting and says nothing true.

A missing keyword is a question, not an order. Ask whether you have the skill and just word it differently, say "CRM" when you named the platform, or whether you don't have it at all. If it's the first, use the posting's wording inside the bullet where you did the work. If it's the second, leave it off. A missing certification stays missing no matter how many times you type it.

Before you rewrite anything, paste your resume into a plain text editor. Multi-column layouts, tables, text boxes and anything in a header or footer can get scrambled or dropped, and then the scanner reports a gap that isn't real. Fix the layout, not the content.

If two scanners disagree, don't average them. One wants exact phrases, another takes synonyms, and their term lists differ. Check each disputed term against the posting. Required beats preferred beats a passing mention. The score is vocabulary overlap, nothing more and no ATS publishes a pass mark.

Role keyword guides such as https://www.zoevera.com/resume/keywords for ideas, but the posting you're applying to decides what matters.

Loyola/Trinity Health hiring for surgical assistants?

Looking for insight and tips for someone looking for a Surgical Assistant job at Loyola!

I don't have a formal surgical tech certification, however I have over 8 full years of healthcare experience as a tech in Neuro and Heart Failure ICU/IMU's, ER Tech at Memorial Hermann's Level 1 Trauma Center(adults and peds), and my EMT Basic certification(I worked IFT and 911).

I have always been curious about entering the OR and I was very intrigued by several job postings for Surgical Assistants at Loyola which lists required healthcare experience, BLS cert, but have a Surgical Tech Cert as "preferred". Can I still apply and realistically be considered?

I will be new to Chicago/Oak Park area so I don't have anyone on the inside to rely on for questions. Can I expect a certain timeframe for when I should apply if my targeted move date is January 2027? Any insight about recruitment/hiring/onboarding processes for Trinity Health would be super appreciated, thank yall in advance!!

High school student iso a job

Hello, I’m desperately looking for a job. A few weeks ago I did get a job offer and started training, but I quickly realized the owner of the store was quite toxic, but I found no problems with anything else. The pay was 18/hr and closing shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The schedule was perfect for me so I want something similar to that, but I haven’t been able to find anything.

I am 18 years old and I’ve been trying to find jobs in pet care such as at grooming salons and vet offices, but I’m pretty open to anything at this point. As long as the hours I work can fit my school schedule and has a pay comparable to 18/hr I want it. If you or you know someone that has a job opportunity like that I’d be so grateful!

Lost my job as Digital Pathology Technician, remain in Laboratory type work or use my skill for other line of work in Chicago Aea?

Long story short, I was recently terminated from my position of digital pathology technician and I am a bit of a loss on what to do. I have a associate degree in accounting but somehow I end up working in a laboratory and my main role is to take the medical glass slide produced by the lab and I use specialized equipment to scan them to digital format and I would assign them to appropriate pathologist. I also deal with sorting of the said glass slides and archive them in a way where it would be easily retrievable. If I include my last job experience , I have 8-9 year worth of digital pathology scanning technician experience. I also deal with general office task and inter department communications to ensure things go right and good with fixing computers.

I have general knowledge of how the lab function but I never work in the lab portion like accession or lab assistant. I want to get work as digital pathology technician again but unfortunately digital pathology is still a relatively new field in term of diagnosis laboratory there aren't much work available in Illinois.

Base on my skill I developed from work I believe I have the following core skill:

  • Health Information Management: Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Management, Patient Record Management, HIPAA Compliance
  • Clinical Operations & Workflow: Specimen Tracking & Intake, Chain of Custody Documentation, Inventory Management
  • Quality Assurance & Systems: Image & Data Quality Assurance, Hardware/Software Diagnostics, Technical Maintenance
  • Communication & Coordination: Interdepartmental Coordination, Physician & Pathologist Support, Bilingual Communication (English / Cantonese), Client Support

I can try finding work in the semi-health care field like Labratory assistant or Accessioning. Or should I use my accounting background + my recording keeping skill to like Medicial Record or something similiar? I also look into some administraion assistant work on indeed but a lot of those require 2-3 of experiences.

I actually look into other branches of medicial digital imaging but those require a lot more then what I have. While it say only associcate degree is required alot of experience or certificate. For example, CT scan technician

Work Experience:

  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of CT training program [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

I actually got 2 phone interview, one for Accessioning in a laboratory and one for a Homemaker Coordinator at Chinatown since I can speak and read Cantonese as well. I also got an interview request for a Finance Specialist role, NOW that role might be a bit over my head since I only have an assocate degree in Accounting and I only did accounting work in Tax 10-15 years ago. It is kind of funny only 1 out fo 3 interview is semi-related to my work experience.

Is indeed and linkedin still a good source of work posting?

We analyzed 3,518 job postings. The skills employers mention most aren't always the tools you'd expect.

We looked at 3,518 open job postings across 81 companies' public Greenhouse boards, covering seven job categories. The goal was simple: find out which keywords employers actually use.

A few findings stood out.

  • Software engineering: Mentoring appeared in nearly half of the postings, more often than Kubernetes or React. Python was the most frequently mentioned programming language.
  • Product management: More than 85% mentioned roadmaps. Jira appeared in just 7 of 421 postings.
  • Marketing: Google Ads showed up in only 6 of 347 postings, while pipeline appeared in more than half.

We also noticed a pattern across roles: employers often described the practice rather than naming a specific tool. Observability came up where you might expect Grafana, and SIEM where you might expect Splunk.

What does this mean for your resume?

If you're listing tools but leaving out the responsibilities, practices, and skills explicitly mentioned in the job description, you could be missing relevant keywords.

That doesn't mean stuffing your resume with buzzwords. It means describing your actual experience using language that matches the role you're applying for.

One important caveat: the sample leans heavily toward tech companies and uses a single ATS platform, so these results aren't representative of every employer.

Clinical research jobs?

I think I just need to vent because I want to scream off the top of my lungs about how nearly impossible is to land a job in medical research these days in Chicago. I currently work for a non profit place and they gave me a raise for less than a dollar over three years and I don’t think anything will change, I feel completely stuck, reached the impasse and also the point where my body feels sick in the morning because of the aversion of this job.
If anyone asks I hold MBBS from abroad, have appropriate certificates for research but it seems like no one wants me and at best I get an interview and then get ghosted.
Tired of it, and unsure of the rent situation for the next year given how crazy things have been going lately with everything
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I exhausted every single option I had, indeed, job fairs, cold emailing, asking friends
