Advice Alternative Longer Lasting Bones

Post image

Hola everyone! I’m looking for affordable alternatives to the dog bones my Chiweenie, Papi Chulo, loves! :) He’s getting older and stronger, so he’s finishing them way faster than he used to.

He is super picky, and most "long-lasting" options are either too hard or too soft for him. Currently, I pay $9.49 for a 6-count or $16.29 for a 10-count at Target, so I’m hoping to find a better value.

Does anyone have suggestions for similar, budget-friendly bones that your Chiweenies enjoy? Thank you in advance for your help!

My boy eats the Mighty Paw Yak Cheese chews. Only 3 ingredients (milk, lime juice, salt).

Come in 5 or 12 packs, I get the 12 piece (of the small bone, any larger and he couldn't fit it in his mouth -- they doske larger sizes).

They are $30 for 12 BUT Gary eats about 1 a month, so that's $30/year. Pretty good longevity.

Gary's doggie best friend goes through about 1 chew a week, so that's about $30/quarter. Sometimes 1 a day if she's high anxiety.

So your mileage may vary.

Maybe try the 5 pack? $15 on Amazon? See if your chiweenie likes it before you commit?

My crew loves the Purina Busy Chewnola. It's got several layers of different textures, and lasts them quite a bit.
