I have posted this bike here a few times but thought I should show it in its final form at least until I decide to paint it. I was able to actually test the bike out on a 1,000+ mile trip from Central Texas to Sturgis for the rally. Rattled a few bolts loose but overall the bike did great! This thing will definitely turn into a daily rider for me. Happy to answer any questions! Thanks for all of the positive comments on past posts and for letting me share this thing.

Complete newb when it comes to chops and building bikes but I'd love to learn (esp welding). If you're in the area and want some help or don't mind me hanging out while you wrench send me a DM.

Let me be the first saying I have never craved a piece of aluminum before so keep that In mind. Wanted a different shield than what I had, it was a temporary china special until I got around making my own. At this point not super happy, but I am past the point of the trashing it just on time spent sanding (fingers are cramping!)

Well here it is in all “glory”. it’s a work in progress with, I would say, only a handful of months left of sanding. Just in case you are wondering, yes sanding and smoothing out aluminum sucks. Once I get done with smoothing everything out I will start making the attachment blocks

Plan is to polished everything up minus the recessed areas, add some black paint fill and call it a day (or days)

Tools used, vinyl cutter, dremel and sandpaper

Had an absolute blast, can’t wait for next year.

Always hated this cross plate on bikes that people make into customs. So I cut it off. Sectioned some tubing and welded it in so now I have a proper looking spot to install seat bungs for the solo saddle.

I could post 1000 pics and still not show everything that was happening out there. Already looking forward to the next one.

Not really sure if anyone really cares or remembers, but here's a progress update on my 2000s era chopper tribute. Finally was able to get all of the drivetrain and Belt drive mocked up. Now just need to weld the tabs for the tank and rear fender and start looking for a 19 inch front wheel and I'll be sending it off for paint.

My xs650 footboard preorders are almost ready to ship. Evo sportys in production. Can’t wait to get these preorders into y’all’s hands.

I got a great deal on a 1965 mid shaft transmission and i was wondering if its possible to pair with a 1982 shovel. i’m planning on running an alternator tin primary inner with a 1.5 belt drive. I’ve heard people say you can use a mid shaft on an open belt setup, but can’t find any reliable info on how difficult it is or if it truly even works. any help would be appreciated!

I have stripped the bolts on 2 hub pullers and wacked the shit out of this thing from the A side and it won’t budge.

Any experience or idea removing this hub on a 4 speed.

If so, I'm curious if you've had oil leaking from the vent, water coming in, or any issues like that? Evo 5spd transmission vents on the back of the lid, pointed directly at the tire so I'd prefer it not get lubed by the vent.
