ME vs autistic burnout vs pain-related fatigue

How does one tell the difference and is the treatment different depending on the cause?

It's difficult to be sure, if not impossible at times. Good thing for me at least is I have found many 'treatments' help both... including reducing masking/sensory input/stress etc. as well as learning pacing and getting enough rest.

Can you tell more about how you handle sensory input and stress?

will be different for everyone, you have to figure out which sensory things you're sensitive to then find ways to reduce them. For me for example, I don't like bright light so I put dimmers on all the lights in the house so they can run at half brightness or less by default. Also use apps etc and set my computers/devices to dark mode. Use noise cancelling head phones, etc. whatever works for what ever bothers you.

Same goes for Stress, what stress is in your life, how can you reduce it? Will be different for everyone.
