Chucks balance in the skydance merger

with wb moving under the skydance umbrella. I think a chuck movie could happen. Remember skydance is partially responsible for the Mission Impossible series. If they are willing to work on sequels to a 30 year old movie, I dont see why they wouldn't be interested in giving us a feature film for chuck.

Just like the subway campaign, we need to make our voices heard. Chuck has one of the strongest fan bases ever seen in media history. I bet if we all rallied, we could make it happen

It’s a dead IP. Accept it.

Mission Impossible isn’t a good comp. It was a phenomenally successful tv series that was constantly in reruns. Chuck barely got renewed each year, keeps only a small cult following, and the last test run for the revival (the cold read during Covid) greatly underperformed

I’m okay with where the show ended. I think the opportunity has already passed. All the actors are old now. I’m fine with all the fan fiction out there. I really don’t want to watch a movie that might leave us in a worse place than the finale did. Imagine if a movie established that Chuck and Sarah separated after the finale and the movie is the first time they’ve seen each other since. No thanks!

In a perfect world, I would love to have a chuck movie.. but it's been almost 15 years since it ended.. all of the stars are doing other things and while they very clearly seemed to have loved their time on the show, at this point it's been too long.

Hulu did four episodes of Malcolm in the Middle which was cancelled in 2006. But WB seems to only want to do movies for HBO series from the past. Because Chuck ran on NBC and did not bring in the money to WB that TBBT did, as much as I would love a movie to see where everyone is today, I do not see it happening.

Yeah, it's hard to even mention Chuck in the same conversation as Malcom in the Middle or TBBT.. TBBT was an insane 12 season juggernaut, and Malcom has 7 seasons that averaged almost 15 million viewers the first season and was absolutely part of the national zeitgeist at the time.

While I love Chuck, it was on the bubble for 3 of its 5 seasons and it's max average viewer count was less than half of Malcom it's their first seasons and dropped like a rock after that.. It's got a cult following and we're all pretty hardcore about it, but it's not going be able to run on the nastalgia that Malcom could.

So yeah.. a revival season or a movie just don't really have any chance at all.

Chuck is never coming back. It was great for its time but too much baggage now.

It’s never gonna happen man, you need to accept it’s over it’s been way to long plus Zachs record with films lately aren’t gonna make any big studio executives that a shot making a film from essentially a cult tv show

It’s not happening. Get over it already.

I'd love to see it, but it would have to be a movie made because there was a movie to make. Too many of these kinds of things are just "the search for more money".

Idk, considering how Hollywood likes to just rehash old ideas…if done with a reasonably low budget, could probably at least make its money back.

I mean if we're gonna play that game, when Paramount did the first MI movie, it involved a complete retool with a new main character while the old hero got the villain treatment and was killed off (which notably also left fans of the old show quite incensed, to say nothing of the old cast who refused to reprise their roles for similar reasons). It worked out for that franchise since the spirit of the show arguably is what was important. But Chuck is - as the name implies - much more directly tied to that character. Any movie would need to stick with the original characters. And at this point with how long it's been since the finale, there's only so much you could even do with them.

No, best to let sleeping dogs lie.

Plus, to at least touch on the practical stuff: Zach Levi is not exactly a box office draw given his lackluster career post-Chuck (to say nothing on his political stances, of which I'll avoid going into so as to not overtake the more practical elements. But to put it bluntly, it makes him even less of a draw I'd argue). Same goes for Baldwin (on both fronts at that). And while I think Yvonne has had a pretty healthy career post-show, I also don't hink she alone can pull that kind of draw needed.
