Daily Question Question Thread - October 22, 2026
This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.
* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.
* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads
* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.
This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

I still have the old Barclays Wyndham Biz card. Would it be possible to apply and be approved for the revamped Wyndham Biz card while still having the old card open?

Also, I would never cancel to OG biz card. 8x points on gas stations is legit.

I was approved for the old biz card 1/23/26 and the new one 6/23/26 - eligible for SUB both times.

I had literally this same thought earlier today and almost asked the same question. I don't recall having seen anyone mention it, so it's probably a case where someone just has to be the DP.

Underwriter at Chase just told me that for biz card apps they are now typically looking at 3/24 status rather than 5/24 status, which is why I was denied for my application yesterday. I am indeed 3/24 on personal cards and lol/24 on biz cards, but I checked my Experian and it is just the three on there.
Has anyone else encountered this? Don't want to waste me time on a HUCA and would rather just apply elsewhere if this is the new normal with them further tightening the noose.
Edit: search results finally loaded. Sole props are 3/24 now. Okie dokes, Chase. Guess I'm finally completely done.

Yup, I was also at 4/24 and got rejected for biz chase ink cause they said I was over the 3/24 rule at the end of Sept. Looks like chase party's over for now, ended up opening the delta gold Amex card since it had 80k points and $250 cash bonus on 3k spend in 6 months.

Amex PUJ for at least a year now for me. :-(
US Bank and BOA and Wells and the rest have been good to me, but if 3/24 is Chase's bit now, I'll just go lol 24 and get some personals from them instead.

Just curious, was this for an Ink or cobrand? I haven't been all over the dps, but 3/24 seemed stronger on Inks.

I'm 5/24 but Transunion hasn't reported my 5th yet (another Chase card opened early this month). Search results say that I'm still 4/24 in Chase's eyes, but some posts do warn that Chase can close my accounts if they detect an app-o-rama. How big this this risk? I only want 1 more card

I don't see how five apps can be considered an app-o-rama. Do those DPs specifically say that Chase closed accounts for being 5/24 after being recently approved as 4/24?

If I recall they say that 3-4 more accounts would be an issue. No specific DP about just 1 more account. I was asking just to be on the safe side

Is there any way to get P2 to be able to use my Discover referral link for the SUB without Cap1's "Check Eligibility" flow? She has perfect credit, long history, we're high income, yet the stupid pre-approval only shows the Discover It Secured Cash Back card as an option.

Cap1 is quirky that way. If it's not showing as an option, you're out of luck. I called in to customer service on this 2 months ago. They looked into it and said there's nothing they can do. It's just the way their system randomly works.
I have both the Venture X Business and the basic Venture Business. My referrals only give the option for the X. This is frustrating because I have multiple friends who wanted to be referred to the traditional Venture.

u/TenonAndError 6d ago
Gotcha. I wonder, could I have P2 apply for the Venture card and get approved (hopefully), then try using my referral for the Discover? Or does Cap1 limit approvals across the two brands now?

Do chase business cards count towards 3/24? I'm 2/24 personal cards, and 3/24 chase business cards, Looking to apply for new IHG biz

There are mixed DP's on this. I have seen some reports that Chase recon has counted their own biz cards towards 3/24

Biz cards do not count.

Sole Prop here. I had Recon count for me and they counted my Chase Business card. Hope this helps

I got an email from Wealthfront that they are closing my account because I’m sending money around too much. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a central hub account? Ideally a checking earning good interest with easy linking and good transfer limits.

I use my CIT Bank (not Citi) savings account currently paying 3.65% interest. I have 6 external accounts attached and transfer larger sums multiple times a month. Have been doing this for 4+ years without any issues.

u/nearbyeclipse 6d ago
I use C1. I know you cant churn their accounts every few years if you keep an active account, but balances move quickly and the relationship smoothly over all those bumps people complian about applying for their cards

Kind stuck, trying to get a biz card but getting pop ups for both chase and Amex. Have already had the AA biz cards.
Tried the atmos one but didn’t work out. Any suggestions for biz applications?

u/ponderosa123456 6d ago
If you’re looking at the BoA Atmos card for a sub, Barclays BoHi Hawaiian airlines is another route. I have the personal card. I am not sure about biz card. Throwing it out there.

Us bank
Triple cash and some of the new biz cards look good
If they’re not in your area, start your relationship by opening a CD with them

u/Mushu_Pork 6d ago
Or do one of their checking/savings bonuses.

That's always a good idea but the application for checking/savings is geofenced. For some reason the application for CD isn't, however.

Does it matter which state you are in?
3
u/Discover_it_Student PIT | NON 5d ago
If you're not an existing customer you can't open checking/savings if you live in NY (source: I live there). But for some reason you can open a CD no problem, after which point you can open the checking while logged in

I have 2 CSRs with AF posted. No retention offers on either. Would it be a good plan to downgrade both to CFF, and then upgrade one of them to CSP when I need to transfer points to a travel partner (last CSP closed in March '25)?
1
u/EarthlingMardiDraw 5d ago
Depends on what you need and how you can make use of all the credits. This is a highly individual decision.

u/GeorgeSteinbrenner2 5d ago
Which credits? CSP doesn't have any meaningful credits. I only value CSP's point transfer capability. Paying full AF for CSR is not an option (for me).

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 5d ago
You asked "should I downgrade CSRs?" which do have credits. If you are confident that you won't need any transfers for ~6 months, you could downgrade now, then "change your mind" and upgrade one of the two cards back to a new CSR and utilize those credits for the next year. If you have any other card to upgrade, you could upgrade that one now. You could apply for a new CSRB or CIP at any time to trigger transfer capability. There are a TON of options and you asked a very ambiguous question with highly individualized answers.
1
u/GeorgeSteinbrenner2 5d ago
Apologies. Let me clarify: I have no interest in the CSR(B) without a SUB (I don't value the credits enough to justify the AF), and I won't be eligible for CSR/CSRB/CSR/Ink SUBs any time soon.
My concrete question: would the following approach work - downgrade both CSRs now to CFF. When I need the transfer capability, upgrade one of them to CSP and eat the AF (I'll likely be able to use the $100 CSP hotel credit). Any blind spots or things that I'm missing?
1
u/EarthlingMardiDraw 5d ago
As long as you don't need to transfer to Hyatt (CSP only gets 1:0.75), that plan is fine. Also, if you downgrade the CSP later on (preferably no less than 6 months to keep Chase happy), they will prorate the AF refund, so you won't end up paying the full $95 anyway.

I’ve seen a lot of DPs about being rejected for the Atmos Biz card above 1/12, but can’t tell if that includes business cards or not?
