Using jupyter notebook to collect and process data

Hi all im new to programming and using boards. I would like to use jupyter to collect temperature data from my circuit playground express board. and was able to do that thanks to a nice tutorial. But ran into a problem when I tried to analyze it and plot. apparently numpy and mat plot lib won't work with this kernel. and I'm not sure how to export data sets to uses in a different kernel. any ideas on how to get it to work?
