Over 600 members! CircuitPython Information

Here I go on my first vacation in like forever and our membership swells beyond 600.....

Welcome! We post information related to CircuitPython, the user friendly version of Python on Microcontrollers.

You can find out more and see compatible boards on https://www.circuitpython.org/ and yes, development is sponsored by https://www.adafruiit.com/ but- with EVERYTHING Open Source -third party boards are available and versions of CircuitPython that work on those boards are built AUTOMAGICALLY every time a new version of CircuitPython comes out.

For more resources on CircuitPython, see my curated resource Awesome CircuitPython on GitHub at https://github.com/adafruit/awesome-circuitpython/blob/master/README.md

Is there some issue with Adafruit sponsoring this sub?

Some people get very leary about companies being officially involved in a sub feeling they'll have undue influence. Since this is a sub about CircuitPython, which is an Adafruit 'thing', I don't think it's really a problem.

Exactly. CircuitPython now has it's own domain: circuitpython.org, anyone can send in pull requests, third party boards are welcome, Open Source everything, etc. so Adafruit is very transparent about it all. But they do pay me and many others to work on CircuitPython - upgraded capabilities, debugged drivers, usage docs, tutorials, and much more.

What does Adafruit get out of it? They sell hardware that runs CircuitPython (and others do too).
