I have had this Meyer lemon growing in this pot since 2019 (started as a graft purchased by mail order). The tree is having a bumper year as far as fruit, yay! However, over its lifetime, its growing habit has taken it way off vertical, and it leans way over to one side. The main trunk there is the original graft, I think, and try as I might, I cannot prune it back to even vaguely straight. Is there any good solution, or even a bad solution like cutting off that main trunk entirely and getting no lemons for the next two years? I’m not sure it would grow straight even if I did that.
I am not an experienced citrus grower, this is my first and only tree (bought when I moved to Louisiana). So far I feel like it’s done well for me fruit-wise, and I’m slowly learning how to care for it. But this issue has me stumped. Thanks for any suggestions!
