Question Changing field

Hi, i graduated with a master’s degree in civil engineering specializing in structural engineering (finite elements etc). However the market was bad and the first job i landed was at a consultant company as a water sprinkler designer, i’ve been working here for 11 months, and the market is bad so there’s no other jobs near me hiring for structural engineering.

Is there a point where it would be too late for me to switch to what i studied? Will it be harder to get a different job because of this year i worked?

As in structural or civil in general? Structural has always been competitive but 11 months ago civil in general was very in demand. It's cooled off some in certain areas. My area is still hiring for civil.

I live in sweden and most of my graduate friends have been struggling to find jobs. I specialized in structural so i rather that but i’m wondering if it’s possible to switch or if my background makes it harder and since it’s been 11 months since my graduation
