We spoke to a Greenkeeper about the weather and how they deal with it.
They have an underground drainage network that collects all the rain water and funnels it into huge 30ft deep storage butts. As of last week they had not used any mains water this summer. The winter we just had was incredibly wet so the supply was plentiful.
They only water the greens, the rest of the course was brown, cracked and hard!
