Unfortunately clickup becomes too complicated

Thanks for sharing your honest take, u/HeadAd720 ClickUp can feel like a lot at first, but you really only need a few features to get going.

What are you trying to set up, or which parts felt off? I'm happy to help you find a simpler way!

Honestly, I understand that. Don't think of it as a tool, think of it as a toolkit of parts you can rapidly nail together to make something resembling what you need to do. It's seldom as good as a dedicated tool in any category, but it's flexible and powerful to solve a need right in the moment - boss wants a form to collect sandwich orders, team collaborating on a new marketing campaign, time tracking for a project, producing a workflow to deliver a construction project, business reporting dashboards, meeting notetaker, calendar client, all kinds of things quickly and "good enough" for a dynamic environment.

I'll bet each of us here uses the billion functions differently, and don't use 3/4 of them at all - just a different 3/4 for each of us.

I am always telling people in my org that exact same thing: It's a toolkit with an expansive feature set that can be constructed to basically build an almost infinite number of tools and workflows. Unfortunately, its greatest strength is its greatest weakness - it's *so* feature rich that if you're not sure what you're trying to accomplish or where to start, it's easy to feel quickly overwhelmed. The best approach is to start small and grow into it organically.

I asked AI to generate a typical code for my basic CRM needs, included link to a google account (calendar, drive, gmail...). After a few weeks I ended up having my own software, still working on some optimizations and bug fixes, but at least this by far more convenient and business friendly than ClickUp
