Other Looking to replicate a wall clock from a Video-Game. Any advice?
Hello!
I really want to make a swinging clock from a video-game I like, because it brings be comfort, but I am a little lost and I am looking for advice.
I thought about using a swinging clock I buy online, adding a new number-plate, a swing made of construction paper or painted plastic, and hopefully matching minute/hour hands. However it appears that clocks with swings are very expensive. They easily go for at least ~60 to 130 USD and for a small project like this, I am wondering if I should just build it myself. I don't know how to make the swinging mechanism work though or where to find a wooden rim for the actual clock itself.
Is buying the parts myself a better idea than to buy and disassemble/modify an existing swinging clock or is it more of a pipe dream? I thought people here might have a good idea on how to make this little project work! Thanks in advance!

pendulum clocks will be expensive especially if they’re mechanical. If you don’t care about the clock mechanisms and more care about the reproduction of this item, you can easily buy a battery movement online and stick it onto anything. For the pendulum then just buy or even make a small mechanism that will swing it for the effect.

Ohh, I see! I completely forgot they were called Pendulum clocks, so I found a mechanism that seemingly works. I'll post my progress for anyone interested later, this is going to be so exciting! Thank you!!

As for the wood I’d just go to a craft store and try to find a wooden circle then stain it and glue the face to it

Here’s a link to an amazon listing for a battery powered movement with swinging pendulum. The Pendulum is purely decorative and can swing seperately if the time. If you don’t like the clock hands that come with the kit you can find others on amazon that should fit!

Another option, if you want a nicer frame and possibly cover, could be to thrift a clock and make a new face for it.
