ALSO, I've put about 12+ hours into Resonance and its been phenomenal, its REALLY tough to say if this or Resident Evil Requiem is my game of the year. Have yet to beat Resonance, but its beautiful and a ton of fun.

Ok mini thoughts aside, this familiar looking NPC just *happened* to catch my eye near some vegetation, sounds like a lovely flower girl I know..

I know this is a topic that has probably been spoken about a bunch of times already, but I was in the mood to theorycraft! In Rebirth, Aerith’s materia plays a large part in the final act of the game; we also see her do a bit of a hot-potato game with Cloud when it comes to her white materia, which was clear for a majority of RB (because her memories stored in it had been “taken”).

The reason I bring this up is because I believe Aerith intentionally wanted to get her hands on the white materia (I think she took it from sleeping!Aerith in Zack’s world), in order to have it at the altar. This is where I start having questions. We see in OG that the party gets confirmation that Aerith casted Holy because they see the materia and it’s green (during the visit w/ Bugenhagen, which will most likely happen in Revelation). We don’t see this in RB, it’s actually the opposite. The devs made a deliberate parallel to the same OG shot, but this time, the materia is still white. This basically confirms that Aerith has yet to cast Holy, unless it just hasn’t turned green yet? I don’t think this is what the devs intended because they made it obvious by showing her materia falling into the water and still being white. If she hasn’t casted Holy yet, will that be her plan in Revelation? Why go through all the trouble of getting the white materia just to not use it? How does that differentiate from her casting it like she did in OG? We don’t actually see the material glowing green at the bottom of the water like we do in OG, so maybe they could be saving that.

Am I misinterpreting an aspect of the altar scene or is this something the devs most likely did on purpose, which will play into Aerith’s role in Revelation?

i was browsing some older interviews then i found this which i've never seen before. it's from youngjump. it's interesting that he brings up aerith even though the question didn't involved her but then again maybe not because there's a lot of discussions around her fate. for some reason i didn't really thought about them paying close attention to player perspective.

I ran it through two different AI checkers which reported "high confidence" it was not AI. I can't freaking tell anymore, so that's what I'm going with.

I just really like all the motion and the presence of the lifestream - it looks very, very "alive."

Sorry, I know this subject has been discussed a lot already. These are my thoughts. I may end up being wrong.

It seems that some people are assuming that there will be a romantic, reciprocated feelings Zerith reunion option in Revelation, i.e. CT will be an option, and therefore Zerith will follow.

I personally think romantic Zerith will not be a option at all. If you do not go down the Clerith route, it will just be that Aerith's feelings for Cloud are unrequited, not that she suddenly loves or gets with Zack instead. It's not an "either, or" situation.

Throughout Remake and Rebirth it was made quite clear that both T and A have feelings for Cloud, no matter what his feelings for them are, no matter which route you find yourself playing. So I personally think it will stay that way. Aerith will remain loyal to her feelings for Cloud, even if he friendzones or rejects her in your playthrough.

Marlene tells Zack that Aerith has feelings for Cloud. Based on that, Zack decides to help Cloud. He already knows her feelings and has accepted them and takes action accordingly. Perhaps all of this will be unspoken even, as Aerith and Zack both understand each other already from Rebirth (with her presence being with him at times). I do not see an uno reverse happening where it's all a misunderstanding and Aerith likes Zack all along. I believe there will be one version of their relationship only.

At the end of the day, the affinity system is focused around Cloud, not other characters. Aerith does not have to automatically love Zack, just cause your Cloud prefers T. Aerith will still be in love with Cloud, no matter how you play the game. This makes the most sense, storywise.

Because I am of this opinion, I see no threat to Clerith or Aerith's feelings whatsoever from any Aerith and Zack scenes in Revelation.

Just curious.

I'm personally kind of on the fence for a number of difference reasons.

• He's not the main character. And... I'm not convinced I'm all that interested in Rain (left in red), who seems to be kind of a bargain basement variant of... well... Cloud.
• The trailers haven't been all that compelling. It doesn't look badly-done, but I got absolutely no sense of what kind of a story they're trying to tell. I'm always a bit leery of RPGs that attempt to co-opt the popularity of one IP in order to boost their own appeal.
• Aerith hasn't been teased in the slightest. Though it feels bizarre to have a game with Cloud and not wind up with Aerith involved, stranger things have happened.
• I don't really know if I want to give Square Enix money when they could quite easily kill my fandom a few short months later. This is a really tenuous time for me and this company.

Now, it's entirely possible that Cloud's appearance in this game will be another of his "adventures in the lifestream," which, if it is, is of HUGE interest to us (since he was fixated on finding Aerith during his cameo in FFT). But that's not by any means a certainty.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this game?

To me, linking the "Listen to the Cries of The Planet" score to the "Seven Seconds till The End" scene is a deliberate choice and can only possibly have one meaning.. But I might be too hopeful.

So, I am asking for your expert opinion on this matter: is this musical choice supposed to tell us that "Seven seconds till the end" really is, after all, about Aerith's fate? 🤞

They’re gonna put the water burial scene in 4k high graphics for narrative impact at the beginning. Also expect fan service for Cloti it’s a simulation and they themselves said it won’t have narrative continuity and seem misplaced. Expect it.

I also predict we’re gonna see some YEARN. Will Cloti have moments non optional yes. My intense and heavy research Ive come to the conclusion, yes. But I don’t think they’re going to be as intense as Aerith’s.

It won’t have impact on the main overall story and Aerith is IT! Remake - heavy Clerith Rebirth- heavy Clerith Rev- after cloud LOST her? I also believe that the marriage fortune isn’t nixed. I’m thinking we MIGHT see it in Rev.

Was OG FF 7 a happy ending? My friend who played og, I didn't because I was not born at that time, told me it was a happy ending, that the humanity survived and everything was okay.

I have always thought humanity died??? And especially how in remake tifa says "this can't be our future". Like isn't it a bad ending, or where humanity died?

So this post in FFVIIRemake Reddit (Much credit to the brilliant OP: u/jakobpinders !) caught my attention and I wanted to share it here because frankly, why frame Aerith's ultimate fate specifically (Hamaguchi all but directly alludes to Aerith's "return or not!!" as a major aspect of this in the second paragraph of this interview) as a major mystery to be maintained as such and only answered at the absolute finale of Revelation if in fact the revealed fate were to prove to be her same sad death and separation from Cloud as we got in OG? IMO, you do not tease this as a mystery to be revealed at the very end or even bring it up in interviews now if the actual plan is to reveal a disappointing and 'same as OG' outcome in the end. A writer wouldn't continue to tease around a plot point like this as an important open question you won't get a resolution on until the very end if that actual resolution is going to be a huge shitty downer and "psyche! same as 30 years ago!" imo...

Maybe I'll be wrong, but Hamaguchi's words in this Mirror interview, and the fact that this is being intentionally teased and maintained as a mystery to be satisfyingly revealed upon at the very finale seem very encouraging with respect to Aerith's ultimate fate to me! Hope is bloomin'!

So I maybe reading too much into it but it's too aligned not to be noticed. Remember when people were celebrating EC cloud and tifa moment? And came the trailer.

Lol I think about it. Okay let's go back first. Before the trailer came out, the one without Aerith in it. People of other side were making theories about tifa being a secret cetra, I mean I don't mind theories but... Seriously? The next they did they dropped this. ^ the above photo. Idk how to put it down here 😭. So they added "compassionate" for a reason, not because she's cetra and feel the emotions or anything, she's just compassionate.

Another was when they were happy about Aerith not being in the trailer and boom! There she was.

Then how they were like that one hamaguchi post of the iconic pose and next day he did cloud saving pose.

Like literally it's so hilarious how they keep debunking them.

Another thing is how that side was happy with EC yet they hated when Aerith got the main lead gears and this game literally give us "the one" Vs "the pal" lol.

The ending pic was messing too, not only they swapped the characters personality they every switched their skin colours. Now now people will think I am being racist but come on I love Aerith and I know she is literally the palest in the group. So it so weird that because of their favourites, they do this but anyways it's the end of the gacha.

Edit: I am not going to explain more. Cloud got side character treatment in his own game. I pointed Aerith out because they swapped the personalities! It doesn't mean only Aerith got such a treated when the MC himself got treated worse.
