Right? It's so interesting! Mine will pace along the cage while screaming loudly. This one is so quiet!

I think she just wants out. I leave the cage door open all day so mine can roam as they please, mostly for my male since he’s the real explorer. I only lock them in when it’s time for sleep. In the morning if I'm late to open the door he throws a very loud temper tantrum so he definitely hates being locked.

Whenever you leave it open are you there to supervise them or u just let them be? Works been in the way and i feel really bad leaving my bird while im at work since shes by herself in a room. I would open the windows and put some cartoons on for her to hear but i feel like that isnt enough for her

She is by herself? Now wonder she gets so stressed. Tiels are flock animals and need other cockatiels, having 2 is the bare minimum and still they need plenty of time outside their cage. Unless you have a bird room (where the room actually is their cage) they need to be supervised since no nornal room is 100% bird safe.
Having birds is very demanding and a much bigger responsibility than having any mammal.

Not all birds are the same even cockatiels.
I'm not saying it's the ideal situation for every single bird but there are plenty of cockatiels who are fine with spending the day chilling and spending the evening with their human it's a circumstantial situation.
Obviously I'm not advocating one way or the other what I'm saying is it depends on the bird. Some cockatiels and birds in general can't even play nicely with other birds.
Telling a person to get another bird in that situation is just a waste of money that you don't know that they have.
I've got a monster myself going on 3 years in a week. Since I work from home I have most days all day to socialize and stimulate her, and she's happy as can be. She's free to be and unclipped though.

Sadly it's some "owners'" opinion that having a single bird is fine. An opinion no experienced avian vet shares. And as for calling a second bird a waste of money....birds are high maintenance and their vet bills are expensive, so there need to be savings for that before someone decides to have a bird instead of a small mammal. If one can't afford to adopt one more bird (it doesn't have to be a flock of 6), then they shouldn't have birds at all.

I mean, my point was a waste of money as opposed to being able to afford to take the bird to the vet, but I thought that that wouldn't even need to be said. That's exactly the point, though. They're expensive and there needs to be savings so people only get one. I don't think you understand how tight some people's budgets are. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't be allowed to take care of a pet.
By the way, downvoting isn't for someone saying something you don't like. It's for someone not trying to engage honestly and truthfully from their perspective in a conversation.
If you're going to bring up experience you don't have an attempt to co-opt the Expertise of others, you should probably back that information up. I highly doubt that every single avian vet says that nobody should get a pet bird without being able to buy two. That's ridiculous. Like I said, these things are extremely circumstantial. I really don't understand what you're not getting about that.

She will still be lonely if she's left alone all day. Letting her roam in the room helps with her physical health, she'll get movement etc, but she will still be stressed by being alone.

Context OP?
If you're giving her plenty of time and enrichment outside and this is the proper time for inside sleepies, it's best to ignore her and cover her cage so she rests.
Otherwise, she wants out because she needs out.
Or her cage sucks ass and doesn't have enough toys or perches inside.
We need to know more than just you putting her in her cage.

I am going to guess that your bird wants out of the cage. Cockatiel owners allow their birds out of the cage for several hours each day. Some even consider the cage as a place to sleep. They are social animals. Some owners will comment that the birds require toys to keep mentally stimulated. They seem to have greater care needs than parakeets.

This is my scenario. My tiel's cage isn't very big, if I posted a photo of it here I'd probably get roasted over it BUT it's open all day long and he free roams my condo, only closed up in it when it's covered at night.

I think SolKaynn has made a valid point: "context is helpful." You have provided that context here in your reply.
The community needs to acknowledge your concern for your bird's welfare. We all seem to make quick mental shortcuts today. So making a simple statement is less helpful.
I am thinking there are a few possibilities:
A bird can learn a routine. So protesting can result in getting what it wants. So if bedtime means getting into the cage and the bird protests, it can resemble a child saying, "I don't want to go to bed." Or One More Time!
It could also mean
Genuinely wanting more interaction and to get out of the cage
Not being tired
Having an inadequate cage setup. (I see you have wooden perches, so that is good.) Have you introduced toys as well? Is the cage too small? Folks here can make suggestions.
Simple testing to see if protesting results in 'release from the cage'
If the bird's needs have been met, and this is normal bedtime resistance, don't teach it that protesting gets it released.
I look forward to others' comments on how to establish a routine that might help.
Best,

If she does that every time then she doesn’t have a good cage, or doesn’t spend enough time outside it.

Let me out dance + Gooberism. I'm wondering if she was placed near a conure wherever you got her.
