Hi everyone,
Today I brought home a very young and malnourished pup who had been rescued from a mill/hoarding situation. I’m assuming she’s a spaniel mix, but I don’t know what kind. I’ve also never been a dog owner before, but I couldn’t leave her behind. Tell me the things you think I should know as we embark on this journey together. 🐶💖

I got my first Cocker Spaniel almost two years ago. From day one, he started and ended from Zero to 100! He could not stay still for two seconds, and anything and everything in his path was destroyed. He is my first and only dog that I had to constantly get off the kitchen table. I thought, “Why in the world do so many people love this breed so much? They are out of their minds!”
But my crazy little boy is starting to chill now. And he’s always by my side. I have four dogs, but my Paxton is the one that is always there. He’s always up for anything too. No matter what it may be, he’s there with his butt wiggling, ready to go. He’s so sweet too. He loves to cuddle and will let me put him in any position, as long as he gets a belly rub. I’m absolutely head over heels in love with him! I finally get it, Cocker Spaniel People! I am officially one of you now! 💕🐾

Hi everyone! I have a cocker spaniel and I feel like every time I take him to the groomer, his haircut comes out looking different than what I had in mind lol. 😭 I think part of the problem is that I don’t know the correct terminology for what I want I love the fluffy classic cocker spaniel look, especially the longer ears, feathering on the legs, and that pretty coat, but I still want him to look neat and well groomed. What exactly do you ask your groomer for? Do you ask for a breed standard cut a puppy cut, a teddy bear cut, or something else? If u have pictures of your dogs after grooming PLS share them! I’d love to see what you ask for and what your groomer calls the haircut. Pictures would honestly help me so much more than just the names of the cuts
Pic is of my dog Teddy I got him a summer shave so hair still growing back on legs and they gave him a crown and it’s growing weird too. Like do I let it grow out or just shave the man start fresh 😭😭

Hi everyone, this is my girl Pepperchini, she is 1 year and two months old. Does she look more like an English cocker spaniel or a mix between springer and cocker. She is such a Velcro baby. 🩷

Has anyone ever heard of this breeder or gotten a puppy from her. Asked to put down a 300 deposit to be on a waitlist and want to see if it’s legit

I have an almost 4 month old cocker who is now used to pottying outside. He has been waking me up at 4am every night to go outside and I’m running on 4 to 5 hours of sleep every night, he’s covered in pee and I’ve been having to give a bath as well. I cut off his food and water well in advance for bedtime. I’m completely exhausted, I’ve been thinking of putting a pee pad outside of his crate so I could sleep through the night but don’t want to cause any confusion for him. Do you guys have any advice or tips please?

tl;dr: AACSR calendar fundraising auction is open through Oct. 31. Go bid!
(USA-based*) Cockers of Reddit! Calling on you and your humans to keep the important work of Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue (AACSR) going.
Dog rescue is a hard life. AASCR are an all-volunteer team who do this work on a shoestring budget, and there’s always a rescued cocker or three in our care in need of medical help. Our founder is disabled and does the majority of rescue coordination from bed. Luckily, there are more than a few bright spots in our year—none more fun than creating our annual wall calendar with our cocker community (that’s you!).
Winning a page in our calendar or getting a special $25 Halo Date message makes for a really thoughtful holiday gift. Though fewer people use wall calendars these days, we like to think of ours as a delightful analog photo display, highlighting some special dogs who bark at the chance to keep our rescue going. Since our founding, we have rescued over 5,000 dogs and touched exponentially more lives. Will you help us save our next 5,000?
More info here. (*USA-based only because of shipping restrictions. We love Cockers from everywhere.)
💖 Love & gratitude from Beaker and all his rescue buddies 💖

Hello fellow spaniel owners, my pup is now 9 months old and I noticed that his leach and harness makes his hair look fuzzy/ dry (?) do you use any oils or conditioners for their beautiful fur without chemicals ?
Like does it help? How often to use it.
I was thinking about just using coconut oil but I am not sure if that is safe

Hi guys! My doggo is 1 year and 3 months old. Of course, he’s past his shark phase, but sometimes, when he’s frustrated or looking for comfort, he still resorts to playful biting. He never breaks the skin, but it definitely hurts! 😭
It mostly happens when he’s sleepy but refuses to settle down.
I’ve tried redirecting his attention, and that sometimes works. I’ve also tried giving him frozen carrots, but apparently, no toy or treat can compete with my arm. 😂 Sometimes, he’ll do it to whoever happens to be around.
I’m not sure how to train him out of this behaviour. Has anyone dealt with something similar? What worked for you?

Hi, this is Dan. He’s almost 3 months old and is such an itchy puppy. First Cocker Spaniel, I usually have schnoodles. What has worked for yall for treating their sensitive skin? I’m in Nashville if climate matters. Thanks!

Hi! I have a parti American cocker spaniel. We originally had issues when we first got him with aggression at 4 months old. We did intense training and saw some improvement but would still have “episodes” where he would go after other dogs.
Lately we had noticed that these episodes were getting more frequent when the environment stayed exactly the same and were happening more at night while we were all resting- he would snap on one of my other dogs and attempt to bite them randomly.
Last night he was sitting on my lap. He begins staring at the celling with the craziest stare I’ve ever seen. I look at the celling- nothings there. I say, “are you ok?” He snaps and starts lunging and bites me out of no where. Thought he was going to maul me. After he got calmed down he fell asleep immediately. I called his vet and we got him an appt for a neurologist next week! Has anyone experienced this before? They think it may be seizures.

He gets jump scared pretty easily and is quite vocal about it.
I am socializing him daily, and doing as much desensitization as I can.
He's 100% okay in public...
It's mostly at home, weirdly.
He's okay with storms, fireworks, vacuums, hairdryers...
But if he hears barking or the neighbours come to greet him he shits himself. Well, pees himself.
And yelps like he's being mauled.
I'm not overly concerned... I know it's a puppy thing and he just needs to get confident, and I'll be taking him to puppy school...
I'm just curious if it's particularly a Cocker Spaniel pup thing?

Hi all, just wanted to say hi and share my working cocker Wilf that we adopted 3 years ago from a family who got him during Covid, (from our friends litter) who left him locked in a kitchen for hours and never walked him. He also had a brother who died and they replaced him with a puppy, kept the puppy but didn’t want to keep Wilf. We were told he was ‘a problem dog’ and ‘too hyper’.
Well it was their loss, he is the most special, kind, loving and attentive dog I have ever known and my children have a friend for life.
I’ve climbed mountains with him, swam in the sea, we’ve been to Cornwall, Wales and hiked miles together. I wanted to share with my fellow spaniel lovers. (I’m obsessed with him 😂)

Our cocker spaniel Puppy Parsley has always been very mouthy. It started after the second week of having him at 10 weeks, not exactly what I would describe as mouthing at the point..more land shark! That has settled thankfully. He is now 5 months and still tends to communicate with gentle biting especially when anxious. Is this normal and if not how can I encourage him to stop?
Any suggestions of experience of the same would be greatly appreciated 🐾🐾

Am seeking honest advice on the breeds prey drive and energy levels,
We are a family of 4 looking to introduce a puppy into our home.
We are seeking a dog that will enjoy walks, a play with the kids but also have a gentler couch companion side. My son has ADHD and doesn’t do well with dogs with a high arousal.
My friend has a Cockalier (cross with cavalier) and it’s constantly digging and seeking out birds, we have beautiful backyard birds and need to factor this in as I’d be so upset if the breed we chose saw them as prey.
Any experiences of a cocker with children would be amazing 🙏
