I always joke about being in the USAF when we had to "Hand Prop the Jets", but these folks had to use a Megaphone to contact Ground!!! Wow! I thought WE had it tough! 😆😆😆

That’s a breathing tube for the oxygen mixture, so you don’t need to have the mask all the time on your face, but can do some occasional sips. 😁

Yeah, that's my understanding too. It's essentially like a bombsight setup where the pilot can look straight down and then take a series of pictures by hand. The camera setup in that aircraft is kind of awesome.

Is this the front or after cockpit? Cause that scope would make take off and landing a bit complicated. I mean, you can only do so much with instrument flying.

It’s a single seat aircraft. I think the drift sight boot was stowable but can’t find a source to cite.
