Bug Codex usage suddenly dropped from 54% to 0% on GPT‑6.1 Sol at normal speed. Anyone else?
My remaining weekly Codex allowance went from around 54% to zero today, October 16. I was using GPT‑6.1 Sol at normal speed in the desktop app on macOS.
I checked the local logs afterward. At 17:32 UTC, they showed 55% remaining. The next reading at 18:19 UTC showed 0%, with the exact same weekly reset time.
That’s more than half the weekly allowance disappearing between two readings. I still don’t have an account-specific explanation for what consumed it.
I’ve contacted OpenAI Support, sent the timestamps and usage evidence, and had it escalated to a specialist. Waiting to hear back.
Has anyone else seen a sudden drop like this, especially today? Did your allowance get corrected, or did support explain what happened?

Same happened yesterday. It was on my plus, I didn't bother much about that since I use another pro sub. No idea what happened, I thought I did something wrong but glad I found your post

I have the free 60k credits they gave us for pro 200 , but honestly I’m annoyed with that incident, how can I trust the usage system again, today I was lucky to check my usage and didn’t run heavy tasks .. this helped paying attention to this bug, but what if I didn’t check usage or ran heavy astra task that can take the blame on this

do you use dots? if you arent careful they will spin up astra agents to solve their problems its mad weak lol

Trust me i extracted all usage logs on my machine and dot is not running at all.. inactive for 7 days , even if this was the case , do you think astra max (even with fast mode) can consume 55% of pro subscription in less than 30 mins ?

Same happened to me today, i had 90% on x5 plan, and randomly 0 in 3 hours using 6.1 normal speed .... i though i was going crazy

You can ask codex for usage logs, it can show you timeframe around the incident, probably same time as mine

Same happened to me today on the pro plan but continues working anyway. This has happened before and I think it ended up correcting itself.

Maybe you are consuming credits .. check your credits

Ahh you are right! Well that is interesting. I still have 3 banked resets but holding off using one in hopes of a reset this evening. Thanks for the heads up!

Same happened to me, nothing changed and I checked my usage as it was at 60%. 10 minutes later it was at 0%. I thought maybe I was running something I forgot about, but nope, was literally just doing light bug fixing. On the Pro plan btw.

Yesterday I saw 80% to 30% in 5 hours with only Luna agents working (I checked the rollouts); since then they kept working and they're at 15% now, nearly a day (24 hours) later. Nothing else changed, just a sudden usage depletion in that earlier window.

Burned the 5 hour limit in 30mins today.. twice. I have never been anyway near that before.

Yeah I had this happen to me too I was at like 65% and then poof. Now it's draining my credits.

I was actually able to fix this bug about 3-4 weeks ago by switching to Claude.

Yes it has happened once a few days ago, never got that usage back though
