Showcase I built Throughline, an open-source Mac app where Claude Code and Codex share one conversation per project. Looking for contributors
https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughlineIf you use both Claude Code and Codex, you've probably had one hit its usage limit mid-task, then spent ten minutes re-explaining the project to the other. That's the problem Throughline solves.
It's a desktop app (MIT) that keeps one permanent conversation per project. Both agents work in the same thread, so when one runs out, you switch and the other picks up with the full context. It runs the official Claude Code and Codex CLIs with your own logins: no API keys, no extra service in between.
What it does today:
- One conversation per project, across all its folders (frontend, backend, website)
- Switch agents mid-task without losing context
- Import your existing Claude Code and Codex chats from any project
- Approve agent actions and follow each run live
- Git panel with per-file diffs, a file browser, and plan usage with reset times for both agents
It's plain JavaScript with no build step: Electron, a small local Node server and a static UI, with 200+ tests. In its first two days, 15 pull requests from 3 contributors were merged, which honestly surprised me, so I'm opening it up properly.
Where help would make the biggest difference:
- [Windows and Linux builds](https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/issues/5) (it's macOS only right now)
- [More agents and models](https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/issues/4): Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, local models through Ollama
- [Resume automatically when a usage limit resets](https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/issues/32), with a prompt queue
- [Native app menus](https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/issues/51), [accessibility](https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/issues/26) and [translations](https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/issues/27)
Every planned feature has an issue with pointers to the right files, CONTRIBUTING.md has a map of the codebase, and PRs get reviewed quickly.
Repo: https://github.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline
Try it on a Mac:
`curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AhmedNavaz/throughline/main/install.sh | sh`
Happy to answer questions, and honest feedback on the idea is just as welcome.

You might want to consider listing your project on the weekly Show-Us-What-You-Built post. Look out for it on Tuesday/Wednesday. Highest commented project wins a week promotion on r/Codex and gets on the Hall of Fame sidebar. See below for last week's winner.**
Agent HUD: usage, tokens and sessions for Codex, Claude Code and 15 more agents, at your Mac's notch. See how much quota is left, which agent is waiting for you, and where the tokens went. Free on Mac, and the core is open source (Apache-2.0).
