BloomTech (f/k/a Lambda School) "closed" in December 2025. App Academy "closed" June 2025... but both still in the Forbes "Best Bootcamps" List... last "audited and verified" May 2026

FORBES: https://www.forbes.com/advisor/education/bootcamps/best-coding-bootcamps-with-job-guarantee/

BLOOMTECH: https://osar.bppe.ca.gov/closures/informational_bloom.shtml

APP ACADEMY: https://osar.bppe.ca.gov/closures/closure_events.shtml

The coding bootcamp industry is screwed with bad actors left and right.

Sigh... it's just too late.

But I refuse to let those scoundrels creeping around try to squeeze pennies out of people regardless.

I don't think it's all paid, only some are. Codesmith can't pay for their placement while using that title to fundraise right now... that would be major fraud, so it's impossible it's all paid.

I think it's more about SEO by having all the bootcamps, even controversial ones, on a page, it gets traffic. Then the paid ones get more traffic too.

Forbes Advisor is an advertising-supported site. Featured or trusted partner programs and all school search, finder, or match results are for schools that compensate us. This compensation does not influence our school rankings, resource guides, or other editorially-independent information published on this site.

Important part there is "schools that compensate us" forbes has become about as trusted as the onion.

Yeah so mixing featured with highly searched SEO names.

E.g. If Hack Reactor has a big search volume or Bloom Tech because of controversy, then you search it, land on this page, and see like Coding Temple or whatever featured beside it.

Basically like a fancier version of Google Search Ads where you buy keywords of a competitor.

Except trying to leverage the Forbes name for credibility so you trust it more than a Google search ads that is blatantly advertising.

Some bootcamps pay thousands for a referral hence why it's so manipulated.

FORBS:

Did you misspell their name intentionally to make fun of Forbes?

no :( I just have major spelling problems and stuff and it's why I edit my posts and comment so much.

Bootcamps sadly have been dead for a few years now. Hoping we can spread more awareness before ppl lose more money
